Dental saga LATEST update: Update: I emailed asking if the termination letter was sent in error. They replied that it was not. They specifically stated the decision was not based on my children’s dental health, behavior, or the quality of our visit. They also said they appreciated my recommendation of their office. However, they refused to give any actual reason for dismissing us as patients and canceled my child’s scheduled treatment. So I’m left with no explanation other than, “We’ve decided not to establish an ongoing doctor-patient relationship.” So. I put it all out on the line.. here is what I sent back and after this what’s done is done: Thank you for your response. I understand the decision is final, and I’m not asking you to reconsider it. I’m trying to understand what prompted it. One concern I have is whether this decision was related in any way to my having sought a second opinion and filed a complaint regarding another dental practice. If so, I would appreciate knowing that. As a parent, I believed I had a responsibility to report concerns that I genuinely felt warranted review after receiving a dramatically different second opinion. I don’t believe seeking a second opinion or filing a good-faith complaint should, by itself, make a family unsuitable for care. If that was not a factor, I would appreciate any additional context you’re willing to provide so I can better understand your decision.
