NYT reports Iranian strikes have rendered many of the 13 U.S. bases in the region largely "uninhabitable", forcing the dispersal of many of the roughly 40,000 troops stationed in the region, some to Europe, others to improvised sites including hotels, effectively fighting the war “remotely.” The result: a war that is now “much harder to prosecute,” with the U.S. “absolutely” losing capability. Iran is even accusing the U.S. of using human shields. A disastrous, strategically self-defeating war of choice that is exposing real U.S. military vulnerabilities with far-reaching consequences.
