@noturtlesoup17 Pilots hate it too because if you're approaching from the north you have to make an annoying right turn just before landing.

Apparently when controllers transfer to DCA, they look at how fucked up it is, say no, and withdraw from training. "About half of the people that walked into the building to train would say 'absolutely not.'"

I think he meant it. The tech-bro model is to defund public systems, reroute resources toward private capital, and replace democratic governance with company-town logic . . constituents as customers, power concentrated in a CEO/king. He is overconfident, insulated, and detached from the lives of the 99%, so the real agenda slips out now and then. Then comes the backpedal once the public hears it too clearly. I absolutely believe he meant it.

The 15th St bike lane within 30-45mins of Monday’s rally. Despite the emptiness depicted here, it wasn’t totally unused. There was a middle-schooler on a Veo ignoring the 18+ policy. Wonder how many times such behavior has been punished. Over/under: 0.5 #SafetyFirst

@L_J_Cool_J1 let's keep the AI out of this, we're both smarter than it. i can give several examples of it. wokeness in schools, attack them, privatize our great public institutions, strip them for parts, turn it into a cash cow that trains big corps and siphons $$ from the rest of us.

@L_J_Cool_J1 idk but i feel like I'm going crazy. a lot of OH would vote for my ideas but if I ran as a D, but I obv couldn't have a deep convo with every voter, they'd check the R box because they heard Pelosi's SF or NYC are scary (they're not and those who travel know) or something bs

@L_J_Cool_J1 i know because my Ohioan conservative family agrees with me on these sort of issues. Yet here we are where they keep voting for swindlers and charlatans.

@L_J_Cool_J1 i mean if you asked the average ohioan "should we allow fracking to fuck up our state parks" or "should your tax $$ go to a data center that raises your electricity bills, is tax-exempt, and only offers like 10 jobs" who in their right mind would say "yeah sounds good."

@L_J_Cool_J1 but in my experience people hear "school choice" and don't realize what a trojan horse it is. and it's impossible for us to explain the situation to everybody, some think Dems are just lying or being hysterical and much more just don't know.

@L_J_Cool_J1 see that's the thing; if we sit down and explain what vouchers are--gutting public education to partially subsidize private/charters, people would revolt (like they did in KY with bevin). it benefits people that can pay thousands per kid extra and don't have kids w/ special needs

@L_J_Cool_J1 they're playing it safe when they're down bad. don't understand it, I used to work for the OH Dems. need to offer real alternatives, intense arguments and different path presented. Why is JobsOhio "private" when its funded by tax $? so they can't be FOIA'd and make insider deals

Agree. Problem is the Dems driving the ship don’t seem very concerned about updating strategy. They use the same lane culture war talking points. They’re constantly playing defense. They won’t criticise data centers … Very little discussion of public private partnerships and corporate welfare

@L_J_Cool_J1 I'm not doubting your knowledge here, I'm only expressing my frustration at how tall the pile heap of garbage the GOP sits on is that we have to climb up. I do agree that we should lead with how shady JobsOhio is and the blatant corruption in the statehouse.

@L_J_Cool_J1 really, we need a national program to stop states from racing to the bottom to attract jobs from whichever state has low wages and weak union laws. but in the meantime, if the average Ohioan knew what went on at JobsOhio they'd riot.

@L_J_Cool_J1 vivek will cut it all. and i remember working with low-wage Columbus warehouse employees in college a few years back and they all watched tucker and voted GOP. it's a conundrum.

@L_J_Cool_J1 if we can win the governorship in 26, we need to figure out a strategy for 28 that doesn't just rely on trump being awful. he's always been awful. we need real investment in statehouse races, and a way to reach voters where they are. when they're polled, they largely agree w us.

@L_J_Cool_J1 my overarching point is that we have to overcome several structural issues benefiting the corrupt OH GOP. the lack of real information, the financial discrepancies, the terrible maps, the brand of the Democratic party just to name a few.
