i spent basically all of 2019 researching monster AI paradigms only to discover that state machines still clear everything else

Physically, I think I'm doing quite well. I was knocked for about 3 months and didn't go to the gym, but I've since started to go up in weight again. However, my mental state is going all over the place. I'm fine, and then breaking down here and there every few days. Depression 2

@sleitnick I tried out rust and I really didnt like it, felt extremely overengineered for anything higher than systems level programming

Go is such a pleasant language to work with. It's simple, fast, has a great concurrency model, and allows me to be productive. It feels like the Java/C# replacement for backend. I like it 10x more than Rust (sorry to all the Rust fanboys).

@EdenojackRBLX @Chadmandudeguy ive noticed for an FPS, where you have a gun and other items close to your face, it becomes very noticable ~3-4k studs out. But for a third person game, its much less noticable and can go at least twice as far

@Chadmandudeguy Been thinking of attempting a big fallout style game, but have the map separated into DLC styled expansion areas, travelling to a new place per-landmass to avoid floating point issues

It's just really interesting to me that you can get the graphics of a PlayStation 1 game in Roblox if you just position yourself very far away from 0,0,0

I pay $65/month for 300Mbps down (about 10Mbps up). If I switch to another company, I'd pay $80 for the same down BUT it's also 300Mbps UP. Worth it? ($120 for 1Gbps) What do you pay & for what speeds?

29 today 28 has undoubtedly been the worst year of my life, but it's had so many high points as well. Today is a bit of a lonely one. I don't really know how to talk to the people around me anymore, which is worse because they've been the year's highlight. Here's to 29; bring it.

Continued my Luau/Zig test over the weekend. Got just about every part of the C API playing nicely now. Here's an example of creating a library with Zig functions bound to it.
