As much as I trust in De Zerbi to make Tottenham competitive again, there are some major issues with letting him do whatever he wants in a transfer window.
Yes the signings of Fernandes, Van Hecke, Sensei and Tonali are incredible but the reports of him wanting to offload: Spence, Bergvall, Gray and Tel are quite concerning.
It’s potentially a situation of RDZ not planning to stay at Spurs for a very long time - hence compromising some very talented youngsters.
Now, the issue is how explosive RDZ is and certainly not giving him his way can lead to him leaving but the club’s hierarchy has to show more authority.
Is it really worth selling your entire future for 2-3 years of Connor Gallagher and Bentancur?

Spurs biggest problem for the last 15 years has been buying two mid players like Santos & Tielemens in the £30-60m range instead of buying the elite player like Fernandes £85m. Congrats united fans if you’re happy with this. But you’re now literally levy’s Spurs 🤣

Consistently finishing in the top 4 is different money to finishing in the bottom half of the table. Consistently qualifying for UCL puts the club amongst the best in the world. Cmon now

Understand that Archie Gray and Mathys Tel are not rated by Roberto De Zerbi. However Gray is unlikely to leave but Tel could go depending on forward signings. As it stands, Djed Spence and Lucas Bergvall are likely to leave the club.

Thinking about this.. I don’t reckon they sell Tel if they only sign one winger. Which means Tel stays and gets to prove himself or we sign 2 quality wingers likely out of Leao/Gakpo/Savinho and of course Kroupi can play there. Win-win for the fans if it gets done.
