I don't think Chelsea fans truly understand how badly the squad has been built.
Enzo and Cole can't play together as 8/10s, you will get destroyed, which means you can't have Enzo in a double pivot.
But then Caicedo should only be used in the pivot if he has a partner, a double pivot, he isn't a single pivot, he's actually a Number 8.
But if he plays 8, you need another destroyer in the 6, Lavia isn't really that, and Lavia would only work in front of Centre Backs who are 6'5 and win every aerial duel.
So with all of this, if Palmer can't play as an 8/10, then everyone would say put him RW right, but what about Estevao? If you move him centrally you have same problems.
Then Joao Pedro is like a complete 9, but needs wingers who run off him and associate play, link up with him, only Estevao is smart and technical enough to do that.
Nobody can do it on the left wing, and even then, both wingers would require a good overlaper, unfortunately Reece James can't do that anymore, and Cucurella and Gusto have no offensive qualities on the overlap.
One has the power to run up and down in Malo, but zero quality at the end when he has to make a good pass, shoot, cross, the other, Cucu, has a decent cut back, but besides that nothing else.
And even if you try to solve some problems by playing Andrey Santos as a 6, he needs top progressors of the ball behind him to take responsibility off him, only Colwill and RJ offer that, nothing from Goalkeeper.
So all of these issues, and someone having to be left out or sacrificed, whether it's Palmer, Enzo, Estevao, you can try, that would cause a big issue in itself, but even if you do that.
It doesn't solve the imbalances of the squad, something will always be wrong, which proves these Directors don't have squad building and player profiles matching well together when making signings.
All about profit, favours for agents, flipping in the future, amortization, so really, it doesn't matter who the manager is at Chelsea Football Club.
They will always have to try solve the biggest puzzle in world football, but the puzzle literally can't be solved because there's always pieces to the puzzle that are missing, several pieces.
