We are used to hearing all sorts of excuses as to why someone has an expired license plate or temporary tag, but this one made us cringe a bit. 😬 When the deputy asked why he had not renewed his tags, the driver said it was his wife's car, and she should have done it. Yikes. Well, he got the ticket, not his wife.

Deputy Holmes and Deputy Hackler were on patrol around 11:00 p.m. on February 5 when they stopped a motorist for driving without license plates. Daniel Elias told deputies he didn't know how to install his plates due to a learning disability. He had his license plates with him, as well as proper insurance and registration. Rather than give him a ticket, the deputies helped him put his license plates on. He was so appreciative and encouraged us to share the video. Thank you Deputy Holmes and Deputy Hackler for the genuine kindness and compassion you showed Mr. Elias. #helpingthecommunity #kindnessmatters #serveandprotect
