Wait... is that MediaStorm's Tim with TRANSFORMER 1? 🤖 You've seen robots walk. You've seen them run. But have you ever seen one turn two legs into four, and then film a Hitchcock shot on command? We just sent T1 on its first mission. What happened next? Let's just say... Tim looked surprised. We'll be sharing more T1 content. Stay tuned. 👀 #Primebot #Yourmateyoumade #transformablerobot #T1Robot #personalrobot #robot #Robotics

Wait — is this the first time a personal robot has shown up at the UN? I was just scrolling through some AI for Good Summit photos and saw Q1 — an 80cm humanoid robot from PrimeBOT — just standing there. And I literally said "wait what" out loud. I feel like the robotics conversation has been dominated by two things: scary sci-fi warnings, or "robot does warehouse job." Nothing in between. But this thing is meant to be owned. By a regular person. Like me. Like you. It's open-source-ish, customizable, and apparently shortlisted for an A' Design Award in Milan next. In the "personal robot" category. Which tells me the design world is starting to take this seriously. Am I crazy or is this actually a big deal?

The First personal humanoid robot of 2026 is here 👀 Q1 stands at just 0.8 meters tall. It's designed for your home, not a factory floor. And it's completely open source. The Q1 comes from PrimeBOT, a joint venture between AgiBOT and Shangwei New Materials. Its capabilities are dancing, intelligent companionship and social interaction. It's aimed at students, hobbyists, developers, and home education.

Just saw a photo of a tiny robot at the UN in Geneva. And I cannot stop thinking about it. It's called Q1 80cm tall, looks like something between a friend and a gadget, and it's standing at the AI for Good Global Summit like it belongs there. The wild part? It's not a demo. It's a real personal robot from a company called PrimeBOT. Completely open, programmable, even has force-controlled joints that sense and adapt to touch. Apparently it's off to Milan soon for the A' Design Award. Shortlisted in a brand new category: personal robots. Something about seeing a robot that size, at that event, looking that human-centered it just hit different. Made me realize how much the conversation about AI and robots has been missing the word "personal." Feeling genuinely excited about this. Anyone else?

Okay so I just fell down a rabbit hole about this robot Q1 from PrimeBOT — spotted it in some coverage from the AI for Good Summit in Geneva. The reason I'm still thinking about it? Not because of the tech specs. Because someone finally asked a question I didn't know I was waiting for: What does it feel like to have a robot in your life? Not "what can it do." Not "how fast can it compute." What does it feel like. That's the question that won them a spot at the A' Design Award in Milan — shortlisted in a category that didn't even exist before this year. Most robot coverage I see is about industrial automation or scary AGI predictions. This was different. It was about proximity. About something designed to be with you, not just used by you. I don't usually get excited about hardware. But this one stuck with me.

The first personal humanoid robot of 2026 Standing at only 0.8 meters tall, the Q1 is from PrimeBOT, a joint venture between AgiBOT and Shangwei New Materials. It can dance, provide intelligent companionship, and engage in social interaction. It is completely open-source, allowing individuals without programming skills to design its language style, personality, behaviors, customize its skin, head, and even 3D print its casing... The Q1 is aimed at students, geeks, individual developers, and for home education. The price has not yet been announced. However, as a small, full-body humanoid robot for personal use, it is likely to be much cheaper than many other humanoid robots. Low-cost, small-sized humanoid robots with low barriers to entry may be key to widespread adoption. While larger humanoid robots can participate in more real-world tasks, smaller ones have significant market development potential.

Okay I need to talk about this robot I just came across. Q1 from PrimeBOT, spotted at the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva. First thought: cute. Second thought: wait, this is a real humanoid robot? That's actually meant for normal people to own? I've seen plenty of robots in videos. You know the type, impressive from 10 feet away, but you'd never want one in your living room. Q1 looks different. It's small, open, customizable. You can even 3D-print parts for it. It's apparently the first personal humanoid robot ever made. And it's also heading to the A' Design Award in Milan soon, shortlisted in a category that didn't even exist before. We've been talking about robots for decades. But somehow they never felt like they were actually for me. This one... might be different?

@hasantoxr Wow, this means a lot. Making robots that feel personal not just powerful, is why Q1 exists!

Scrolling through AI for Good coverage and stumbled on a robot that made me pause. It's Q1 from PrimeBOT and what caught my attention wasn't the robot itself (though it's pretty cool). It was the question behind it. They're not leading with torque specs or processing power. They're leading with something I haven't heard a robotics company say before: "designed for the individual." That's why it was in Geneva this week — competing in a brand new "personal robot" category that literally didn't exist until now. I've been following tech for years. And I can't remember the last time a hardware announcement made me feel this way. Like something was actually designed with me in mind, not just marketed to me. Maybe I'm overthinking. Or maybe we're finally seeing robots that feel less like machines and more like something you'd actually want around.

So I just spent the last 20 minutes reading about a robot I saw in an AI for Good Summit recap. And I have thoughts. It's called Q1 - from PrimeBot - and it's being called the world's first personal humanoid robot. It was in Geneva this week, surrounded by policy wonks and AI researchers. The reason I'm still thinking about it? Because it's not trying to be impressive. It's trying to be close. That's a weird sentence to write about a robot. But I think that's the point. We've spent the last decade making AI more powerful. Maybe the next decade is about making it more personal. I don't know if Q1 is the one that does it. But seeing it at Geneva feels like a signal. Something's shifting. Curious what everyone else thinks - is personal robotics finally having a moment?

Saw this photo from the AI for Good Summit in Geneva and genuinely thought it was a concept render at first. But no — it's Q1, a real personal humanoid robot from PrimeBOT. Standing right there at the UN, next to delegates from who knows how many countries. 80cm tall. Fits in a backpack. Designed to be yours — not a factory's, not a lab's. The more I read about it, the cooler it gets. You can customize it, program it with no coding experience (drag-and-drop interface), even 3D-print new parts for it. And it's up for an A' Design Award in Milan next — a design competition I actually respect. I don't know what the future of personal robotics looks like. But I think I just saw it, and it's smaller than I expected. And I mean that in the best way possible.
