Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life. Anyone who believes in Him, though they may die, shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Him shall never die... Do you believe this?

“For the majesty of Your glory is unbearable, and the wrath of Your threats toward sinners cannot be withstood; yet Your merciful promise is immeasurable and unsearchable.” — Prayer of Manasseh 5–6 (LXX/OSB)

The main reason we go to church is for God to serve us. +We go hungry ; he feeds us his Word. +We go dirtied by sin; he cleanses us by the blood of Christ. +We go thirsting for hope; he gives it to us in the gospel. +We go shrinking from shame; our Father tells us once more that we are his beloved children. Yes, we respond to God with prayer and praise. But the primary reason we go to church is for God to do what God does best: gift us, feed us, serve us in Christ.

The dragon slain by St. George is the very same one that dwells in the human heart. Unless you destroy that beast within, your veneration of the saint is in vain.

This week marked the beginning of my first job after college. Please be praying that the Lord would bless this opportunity and allow me to learn all that I need in order to serve Him in my vocation.

JESUS ascended into heaven. And where is He now? He sits at the right hand of the Father. Do you know what “the right hand” means?’ “The right hand of God” means eternal happiness. It means inestimable, inexpressible, incomprehensible beatitude. — St Augustine, Sermon 213, 4

"God, in an apophatic way, is separated from all beings with regard to essence. For he is neither spoken of, nor thought of, nor partaken of in any way, by anyone. But since, according to his providential emanation, he is partaken of by many, by them he is also filled. For each thing that has come to be according to its own logos, which exists in God, is said to be a member of God and to have a place in God." - St. Maximus the Confessor (Questions and Doubts, 173)

@PrimusPeccator And against the sacrifice of the Mass. It's maybe the clearest document in the early Church that precludes that conclusion, because its communion rite is so crazy.
