I’m proud of your uncle for how he handled a very difficult situation.
Recently, a wedding scheduled for March was cancelled after a serious disagreement. The lady insisted that the groom must commit to providing monthly financial support for her parents, and if he couldn’t agree to that condition, the wedding should not go ahead.
At first, it sounded like something out of a Nollywood script. The kind of story people dismiss as “that only happens in movies.”
But as the days went on, the issue remained unresolved. Despite attempts to find common ground, the bride-to-be and her parents held firmly to their position.
Eventually, it became clear this was not a misunderstanding, but a premeditated expectation agreed upon within the bride's family.
One week to the wedding, I advised him to cancel it.
He made the difficult decision to call it off.
He was able to recover refunds from the hall, cake, decorations, and part of the payments made to vendors.
Painful, yes. But sometimes, the hardest decisions are the ones that protect your future.

The lady my uncle wanted to marry told him just a month before their wedding that if he ever lost his job, she would leave the marriage.
My uncle later called off the wedding, but her family said she didn’t mean it and was just joking.
The funniest part is he refunded all his groomsmen the money they paid for wedding materials and told her to refund her aso ebi ladies too. The lady kept begging him, but he did not change his mind, and he said it was the best decision he has ever made.

A Nigerian woman in the Uk 🇬🇧 called police on her husband due to DV…
The husband has been ordered not to go back home till investigation is complete.
Interestingly, she’s heavily pregnant.
Now she needs all forms of support, and she’s not sure what to do.
The husband is likely to lose his job, bcos the case has been reported at his place of work.
Worse yet, they are both on post study visa, which will be expiring soon, with no COS in sight and she will be going on maternity leave soon…meaning she fit from leave go back to Naija with baby, and a broken marriage.

A driver slapped his Oga's wife back this morning.
They were having an altercation and out of impulse the woman slapped him.
She felt she had shut him up until he gave her two rounds of slaps.
The man turned in his resignation but the woman's husband declined it.
He chose his driver's side.
