@DarrigoMelanie Rich Leftists massively outspend right-wing people on elections, and here you are ignoring everyone except Elon to try to make it seem to be the other way around. Despicable.

The maximum an individual can legally donate to a candidate in an election is $3300. Elon donated $277M to Trump in 2024 because of loopholes rich people use to buy elections. If you care about election integrity — overturn Citizens United so our elections aren’t auctions.

This is wild. People in *every single one* of the top US allies now think it's better to depend on China than the US. The global balance of power is clearly tilting away from the US and toward China.

$200 billion would pay for free college for every American, $10 day childcare, 1000 new trade schools, the 40% federal share of special needs education and a lot more. What are we even doing here? MAGA is now Iran first?

@Hickenlooper Ever since 2014, I've received ballots for people who don't live at my address in every election. Not always the same people. Sometimes the Mexican woman for whom I've also received Verizon bills claiming $3,500 overdue. She's never lived here.

@jennycohn1 So your complaint is that IDs that aren't evidence of citizenship can't be used as evidence of citizenship? Maybe your blue states should stop playing games with Real IDs.

Stop misleading people. The Save America Act says u can use a Real ID to register to vote ONLY IF the Real ID “indicates the applicant is a citizen….” (See screenshot below left). Only 5 states issue Real IDs that indicate citizenship. (See screenshot below right). 1/

Democrat Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez pushes the LIE that you can't use a Real ID to vote. The SAVE Act specifically states you can use a Real ID to vote. All Democrats do is LIE.

@MikeLevin Levin is lying. Republicans are trying to reauthorize Homeland and Democrats are saying "No, even though we are minority party right now, we think we get to demand a bunch of partisan changes". Levin is also lying about the nature of those changes.

Here is what’s really going on with regard to the funding stalemate in Congress. ICE agents shot and killed two U.S. citizens on the streets of Minneapolis. Democrats then said: before we write you another check, agree to the same rules every police department in America already follows. Judicial warrants before entering homes. Visible ID. Body cameras. No raids at schools and hospitals. We immediately pushed for votes to fund TSA, the Coast Guard, and FEMA. Republicans blocked it. We tried to fund FEMA alone. Republicans blocked that too. Their position was to fund ICE with no strings attached, or shut the whole thing down. So DHS shut down. Then yesterday, the White House sent a letter admitting we were right. But they still won’t agree to judicial warrants or to take the masks off, which means agents can still break down your door without a judge’s approval and you still can’t see their faces when they do it. We’ve been ready to fund your airport security since day one, not to mention Coast Guard, FEMA and the rest. Republicans chose to protect ICE from accountability instead. #FundDHSFreezeICE

@SwipeWright This is the most erudite way of saying "I don't speak well enough to do podcasts" that I've ever seen! But seriously, I've observed a left-wing preference for video news dating back to Obama's election, and I've theorized that that's because it's the more deceitful medium.

Podcasting lets people speak vaguely about a topic while creating the impression of thorough treatment. I’ve often pushed back on something a podcaster posted on X, only to be told by their fans that it was “thoroughly addressed” somewhere in a three-hour podcast. But when I listen to the relevant section, it doesn’t deliver. It’s often just more vagueness and dancing around the issue, avoiding making direct, falsifiable claims they can be held to. There’s a reason many podcasters don’t write articles about the topics they discuss. Writing forces them to make coherent arguments without fluff. It forces them to connect every link between premise and conclusion. It forces them to cite sources accurately instead of speaking vaguely off the cuff. It’s also easier to be misled by smooth-talking podcasters. People like listening to podcasts because spoken language is the more natural way humans have received information throughout our evolutionary history. But that doesn’t mean it’s the best way to communicate with precision. It’s not. Podcasters also form relationships with their audiences. They speak to them like friends, even like family. None of this is necessarily a bad thing, but it can lead people to lower their standards for accepting the claims they make. A statement communicated verbally by a skilled orator can sound convincing, when the same statement written down plainly would seem absurd. This is why people who both write well and speak eloquently—think Douglass Murray and Christopher Hitchens—are so influential. Podcasting also puts a moat around claims due to the effort required to extract the relevant information. Fewer people are willing to wade through long episodes, constantly hitting ⏩ to find the segment in question, and then transcribe the audio into text. Podcasters can also more easily claim they were taken out of context, whether due to clipping or failing to have watched the previous week’s 3-hour episode that supposedly laid all the groundwork. It’s more difficult to claim this when your arguments are stated clearly and succinctly in writing. Podcasts are great. But anyone presenting themselves as a public intellectual and making serious, high-stakes claims about the world needs to do more than talk. They need to write.

🚨BREAKING: Armed suspected ICE agents are now grabbing young women outside college fraternities… Yesterday, a young woman was surrounded by armed men and taken, outside a fraternity house, at the University of Washington… And we need to stop pretending this is normal. Armed men grabbing a woman in public, and refusing to identify themselves, is exactly what we teach women to fear… and now the government is normalizing that, and calling it “law enforcement.” And this doesn’t just affect one person… it lowers the safety of every woman, on every campus. Because now, there’s no clear line between law enforcement and a predator. If unidentified men can take a woman from a dorm, a campus, a fraternity… then any man can pretend to be ICE and do the same thing, and that confusion is exactly what predators rely on. But, it gets worse… ICE has a pattern of detaining people they shouldn’t, then releasing them without belongings, without support, sometimes far from where they were taken… Now, apply that to a college student… away from family, in an unfamiliar place, suddenly without a phone, ID, or any way to get home. ICE agents are illegally taking whoever they can… and every time people excuse it, the line moves further. Because the second a country normalizes masked armed men grabbing any women in public, especially college students, and refusing to identify themselves… That’s not only NOT public safety… it’s actively putting every woman at risk.

Senator Elissa Slotkin just said this out loud: “If we ever get to the point where you are being asked to put armed ICE officers at polling locations — we have lost the plot as a country.” The fact that a sitting US Senator felt compelled to say this is the story. You do not warn against something that isn’t being discussed. The SAVE Act requires passport-level ID that 50% of Americans don’t have. Armed federal agents are already deployed to American cities. A Border Patrol chief threatened “consequences” for Americans who call agents Gestapo. The DOJ is being used to investigate political opponents. The CIA is allegedly reading journalists’ texts. Armed ICE officers at polling locations is not a hypothetical. It is the next logical step in a pattern that has been building for months. Senator Slotkin saw it coming. She said it publicly. That matters. Never stop connecting the dots.
