@CapelLofft Did Ben Leo criticise Boris Johnson for his proverbiald in Downnng Street while pubs were forced to close?

I am no fan of Reeves or Starmer, but come on, the fact that they did what any sane person would do having just been kicked out of office - go to the pub - makes me slightly warm to them if anything. What would you have them do? Sit in a dark room wearing a hair shirt?
Ben Leo@Benleo

Kicked out of government and then off to the pub for a laugh and a giggle All while the country remains crippled Glad to see they’re having a good time credit @SunPictureDesk

@TonyFlavin0 @AlwinAn27618899 @austeni Your copy and paste is perfectly consistent with what I've said 🙄. This is all incredibly off topic anyway and I'm not sure what this has to do with my original point: you seem to be riled by what I said and are trying to change the subject

@ProBrum @AlwinAn27618899 @austeni Wellll……. -I copy and paste- “it's because we have real jobs and holding genuine Catholic opinions can lead to people trying to out you and destroy you” Any particular occupation?

5 years on from Traditionis Custodes, to no one’s surprise the tiny number of cardinals (3 out of 240) who objected to it then still object to it now. And the Lifesite News / C Herald journalist who objected to it then is still campaigning to overturn it now.
Michael Haynes 🇻🇦@MLJHaynes

Traditionis Custodes at 5yrs — “Superfluous” Cardinal Müller told me “Pope Francis's move has backfired more dramatically than perhaps any other papal act in history,” said @DrKwasniewski And Bishop Eleganti urged return to Summorum Full analysis now on @CatholicHerald

No. 10 North? Manchester. G20? Manchester. Olympic bid? Manchester. Centralising everything somewhere else that’s thriving is not ‘growth in every postcode’, it’s patronage. Time to fight for our region and a true vision for decentralisation. @patmcfaddenmp @ShabanaMahmood
Richard Parker@RichParkerLab

Congratulations to @andyburnham. I've worked with Andy for years. He gets places like the West Midlands, because he's spent his career standing in places like it, not looking down at them from Westminster. He's spent years arguing for regions like ours to have more control over our own money, transport and housing. Now he's in a position to deliver it. So, I’m looking forward to continuing that work together. Lower bills. More jobs. More council homes, built faster. Let's get on with it.

@Mark__Hart @johnmilbank3 @holysmoke Inflation and energy were down to external factors and fueled the strikes. The IMF bailout wasn't actually required post Bretton Woods but economists were still stuck in old ways of thinking.

@TonyFlavin0 @AlwinAn27618899 @austeni I never claimed a particular job would be an issue. I claimed political activists opposed to the teachings of the church may be an issue.

@TonyFlavin0 @austeni Where is your evidence that Blackfen and Margate are 'thriving'. Here is the latest figures from Ledbury's own website: the pre-Covid plateau was related to the Latin Mass

@ProBrum @austeni I don't know for sure but I am guessing Ledbury is thriving, as happened at Blackfen and Margate.

@TonyFlavin0 @AlwinAn27618899 @austeni It's because we have real jobs and holding genuine Catholic opinions can lead to people trying to out you and destroy you. It also means you have to engage with the argument rather than play the man. In any case my account isn't 'anonymous'

@ProBrum @AlwinAn27618899 @austeni Gosh! Another one, can you help please:- Genuine question, why do so many people who identify as Traditional Catholics use anonymous accounts? I’ve asked often, but only get sneery replies. And I do ask politely.

@Rokewood @johnmilbank3 Nonsense. The World Cup Final has been shown on both major channels for as long as I can remember.

Why do we need the World Cup final on both major terrestrial TV channels with the late News much delayed on both of them also?

Christian players from both France and England pray together at the end of the World Cup 3rd place match. A beautiful moment of unity for brothers in Christ. A Christian's first family is the universal Church. Pray for their continued witness to the world around them!
