Lots of people showed up to Greenwich Town Hall this morning for the start of early voting! Instead of voting today I decided to wait and return on another day soon. We have 14 days of early voting so there’s plenty of options over the next two weeks for when you choose to vote!

As #HurricaneHelene continues, the AquaFence at TGH stands firm. The water-impermeable barrier is designed to withstand storm surge up to 15 feet. It has worked through multiple rain events to prevent storm waters from impacting hospital operations. #WeAreTGH #StormWatch

The GFS and Euro Ensembles continue to be quite a bit farther east than the NHC track ah t+24h. Doesn't make a huge difference for impacts in Florida but certainly does for the wind impacts around Atlanta.

The definitive Johnny Gaudreau forever young hockey moment. 12 years ago. He's 18 years old. Ices the 2012 NCAA Championship game. Comically quick feet, hands, and brain. His comp for me was always Allen Iverson--I covered both in college. Impossibly small and skinny (JG MIGHT be 140 pounds here) yet dominated the game and had GIGANTIC respect from his peers. Gaudreau was looked at as a freak and a savant who thought and played the game quicker than everyone else because he had to. Look at his face here--pure joy. A unique Christmas decoration who lit up the game whenever he hit the ice. With Johnny Gaudreau, there was always the possibility of a moment like this. An electric star who made the sport better by his art yet was grounded in his foundational principle: a big, loving family and countless friends is more important than anything. Humility and humanity personified. A son, brother, husband, father, and friend. For life.

This is just beyond tragic. I’m stunned. I loved watching Johnny Hockey, his talent was undeniable. But more importantly, he was a person with a family who loved him. I can’t imagine what his poor sister is going through losing two brothers days before her wedding.
