When Charlie Kirk was murdered, those of us on the conservative side rightly chastised those of our political adversaries who cheered and celebrated his death. We accused them--again rightly--of shameful callousness and of polluting public discourse and coarsening social life. What President Trump does here merits the same chastisement, for the same reasons.

Let’s not forget that Congressional Republicans expanded ICE’s budget by 8.5x since Trump took office last year. This massive increase in funding led to a 2.5x increase in the number of ICE agents over the last 12 months. ICE agents receive 8 weeks of training—same as TSA agents. Other law enforcement (police, FBI, etc.) receive at least 6 months of training.

The @HouseGOP continually defend Trump whose administration literally argued in court that the color of one’s skin gives them reasonable suspicion to stop people for immigration checks.

If the only thing that @RepJeffries and @SenSchumer do to respond to Trump’s attacks on Venezuela is issue a strongly worded statement condemning the attacks (and nothing else), it’s time for new Democratic leadership.
