A shameless attempt to recycle Turkish propaganda by portraying Turkey as needing “to protect itself”. The same country with irredentist claims over Greek Islands, a standing casus belli against Greece, a full army deployed opposite those islands, and illegal occupations in Cyprus, Syria, and Iraq, now suddenly claiming to feel threatened by defensive anti-missile systems. Have some shame.

A dispute has erupted again between Greece and Turkey over the Aegean islands. The Turkish Defense Ministry stated that Greece is stationing troops on demilitarized islands, violating international agreements from 1923 and 1947. Ankara warned that such actions violate the agreements and damage relations between the two countries. To protect itself, Turkey has increased its military presence on the islands and in the TRNC (Turkey's Territorial Defense Corporation): fighter jets, air defense systems, and patrols have been deployed there. The country emphasizes that the actions are legal and coordinated with NATO, but tensions in the region are escalating.

Turkish National Defense Ministry accused Greece of violating the status of certain islands, saying these actions contravene agreements concluded under international law. clashreport.com/world/articles…
