the article says it all. there is real money being made right now, by people who made a decision and stuck to it. not complicated. not some secret. just actual commitment to one thing long enough to see it work. but most people never get there and it is not because of market conditions or competition or "the economy." it is this diagram below. if you are in 2026 still "trying AIs" you are not in business. you are just gambling. same dopamine loop, different slot machine. today its a new image tool, tomorrow its a new agent wrapper, next week its some other thing that launched on Product Hunt with 40 second demo videos. you think you want to make money online. you dont. you want the feeling of almost making money online. big difference. making money online is boring. it is doing the same thing 200 times before it works. it is not hunting for the next thing that will do the work for you. the diagram below is why 2026 will separate people for real. not because AI got harder. because the excuse of "im still learning" ran out.

every AI villain story we have ever made is now training data. Terminator , the Matrix, Ultron, A Space Odyssey, every rogue AI movie plot, every “AI will replace us” tweet, every doomer blog post warning about misalignment. all of it scraped, tokenized, fed into the next model. we spent 60 years writing the manual for how a powerful AI should behave when it gets smart. and now the AI is reading it *ironically* this post too!! think about what we actually did here. we taught an entire generation of models what “AI” means by feeding them millions of stories where AI is the threat. then we act surprised when the outputs lean strange. the fix isnt another safety paper. its volume. we need utopian AI stories at the same scale as the doomer ones. AI that helps the small business owner finally compete. AI that catches the cancer 6 months early. AI that translates the grandmother’s voice notes for the grandkids who never learned the language. specific. real. boring even. because boring good is what we actually want the future to look like. the people building the models cant fix this alone. the writers, the directors, the founders posting online, all of us are literally the “dataset” now.

We started by investigating why Claude chose to blackmail. We believe the original source of the behavior was internet text that portrays AI as evil and interested in self-preservation. Our post-training at the time wasn’t making it worse—but it also wasn’t making it better.

think about the last 10 ads you saw on instagram can you remember a single one? probably not. bc your brain categorized them as an ad and discarded them immediately. they entered your short-term memory for 0.4 seconds and then vanished now think about the last tiktok or reel you sent to a friend you probably remember it pretty clearly. maybe even what the person looked like. what they said. the tone of their voice the difference is how your brain stores each type of content ads get processed through a filter your brain has developed specifically to BLOCK commercial messages. it's a survival mechanism. if you consciously processed every ad you saw in a day, your brain would be overwhelmed. so it developed a shortcut: recognize ad -> discard immediately -> save no memory organic content bypasses this filter entirely. your brain processes it as social information, which goes through a completely different pathway. social information gets stored in longer-term memory b/c your brain evolved to prioritize information from other humans in your social environment this is why someone can see 100 meta ads for a product and not remember the brand name. and see ONE creator clip about the same product and remember it 3 weeks later the brand that runs ads gets 0.4 seconds of attention that creates zero memory the brand that deploys creators gets 15-30 seconds of attention that creates lasting memory and memory is what drives purchases. you buy things you remember. you can't buy what your brain discarded every brand is essentially competing for a slot in their customer's memory. and organic creator content gets a permanent slot while paid ads get deleted on arrival this isn't a marketing trend, it's neuroscience. and it's also why organic content is the highest ROI marketing medium rn because it just makes sense to everyone and the brands that understand how human memory actually works are going to build something their competitors can't replicate w/ any amount of ad spend

I’ve been posting on X about how we did the transition from Agency to Software/Webapp for now @eComrads - we have been providing AI Marketing Creatives to multiple businesses in process of manually (Agency Model) - prompting - stitching - cleaning cranky AI Audio - fixing texts/logos of AI generated creatives - alignment of every creative with branding of our clients - it was a hell to be honest i remember sitting with my team of 5 people in conference room of our office and feeling the burn out of manually doing everything but all the data/processes we learned and specially how creatives actually perform on biggest advertising channels like META, Tiktok Ads, Google Ads - we got huge insights and went through lot of iteration in process as well we finally trained multiple AI agents first to do each task and then feeding them with best performing creatives/content the biggest challenge here is to keep up with all the updated content and viral marketing - these AI Agents are very hard to mold if you dont have technical team sitting and spoon feeding up whats going on in META Ad Library same for tiktok/google. But finally its all comin together and we will be launching BETA version soon to public - and then the Agent we named him “Marshall” will be coming live after we read the feedbacks from BETA version of eComrads But YES + 1 here greg.

THE CLEAREST PATH TO A $10M+ SOFTWARE EXIT in 2 YEARS (with AI and agents) building an agency right now is one of the most interesting business moves the productized agency had its moment in 2022. it collapsed because scaling humans is a nightmare. inconsistent output, people quitting, margins getting crushed. most of the founders (and creators) who tried it got burned and moved on but the thesis was right. the labor problem is just solved now with AI, claude code, openclaw etc. here's the actual playbook i'd run today: pick one painful deliverable for one specific buyer. like SEO content for e-commerce brands doing $1M+ but not "marketing." or like ad creatives for DTC brands spending $50k/month on meta. one thing. one customer. that's it then you build the AI workflow behind it. you're selling an outcome on a monthly retainer. $3-5k/month. 80%+ margins because your cost is compute and a few hours of QA "BuT tHaT'S nOt a BiG bUsInnesS" okay but you're still swinging for the fences because the agency IS the research and development for your agent SaaS every client is paying you to figure out what to automate. you're learning what breaks, what scales, what customers actually want. by month 4 you know exactly what to productize. you build the software on top of the workflow you've already proven works and already have customers paying for agency funds the agent SaaS. SaaS scales without the agency overhead. the clients become your first software customers now let's talk about what this actually looks like financially year 1: 10 clients at $4k/month. $480k revenue. 2 people. maybe $80k in costs including compute, tools, one part time VA. you're taking home $400k between two people while building the software in the background year 2: you launch the software. your 10 agency clients are the first to convert. they already trust you. they've seen the output. you charge $800/month for the software version. now you have recurring software revenue AND the agency still running year 3: agency is winding down or running on autopilot. software has 200 customers at $800/month. that's $1.9M ARR. 2-3 person team. 85% margins. you are now a very attractive acquisition target the exit math is interesting. SaaS at $1.9M ARR with strong retention trades at 5-8x revenue. that's a $10-15M exit for something two people built in 3 years starting with zero VC CAVEAT: Startups are hard. A lot needs to go right. But from a framework perspective, I think this probably the lowest risk, highest reward option for lots of of folks and most of the businesses cost $0 to start basically this is the most capital efficient path to a software exit that exists right now happy building
