Let me clarify: this is not a “boyfriend pace.” This is an uncouth, pig-at-a-trough, poorly raised, ill mannered pace. I was initially raised in what is considered a poor white trash home, but my Mother ALWAYS tended to my etiquette and manners at the table through my formative years. Small bites (never more than one bite that fits on a fork), chew completely, chew with mouth SHUT, don’t swallow the whole bite in one swallow, don’t talk while chewing, take small sips of liquid to break down dry food so it’s not hard to swallow don’t slouch, non dominate hand off the table, and so on. Basically, enjoy and savor the food. If your man eats food like he’s starving to death (which is a misnomer because starving people are actually instructed NOT to scarf food but eating sparingly) then you should question his upbringing and how he might influence any of your children. “Manners cost nothing but can prove invaluable.” -My Mother Note: there was a period in Basic Training and in certain clandestine situations where I scarfed down food but those were circumstantial situations.

@OMGinaeth Depends on your goals If you are dating to find a life long partner and husband of your kids, being sober is probably a good thing. It’s certainly better than being a partier or drinking everyday after work. If you are looking for fun then you made the right choice

I am not sober. I once went on a date with someone who was. Great guy. I thought to myself, Hmm. I have an uber driver and friends. I want a partner in crime. Also thought, how long until this feels judgmental because I want a cocktail or five. Was the first and last date. Did I make the wrong call?
