This is the Kingdom of East Anglia. We all live in funny crooked houses like this, marry our first cousins, commune with talking wolves, and hunt for green children in the fields at harvest time.

This is the Kingdom of Kent We all live in funny pointy houses like this, fly Spitfires over the White Cliffs of Dover, play cricket all summer because we invented it, and dance with bells on our legs to pubs to drink warm beer

@niall_gooch The English Civil War, like the American one, has been studied to death by obsessives. If there was any evidence of even a single man of sub-Saharan extraction participating in it, we would know. The pro-side cannot reasonably point out any such thing.

@Historylecturer The prohibition only applied to Scotland and plenty of posh people there flouted it. It does refer to particoloured stuff and tartan but only to ban it from being made into Great coats or Upper coats. There was only person who arrested for wearing a tartan uppercoat.

@Historylecturer Beyond the likelihood being that the majority were in highland dress since there are many letters about shoes during the campaign which certainly suggest they were wearing it. I contributed a chapter to 'Rebellious Scots to Crush edited by Andrew Bamford about them.

@Historylecturer Three companies of the Argyll militia were on the field - Achnaba's Glenorchy and Melfort's along with Loudoun's (who also wore Highland dress). The Argyll militia did not actually have a uniform beyond their cockades so it's difficult to know exactly what they wore

Overhearing SA tourists. “The new town was built to show Edinburgh’s loyalty to the Crown following the Jacobite rising of the clans against England in the 1400s” 🤯🤯🤯 how do I stay quiet hearing that?

3️⃣ Misogyny will enter mainstream politics - and the whole anti-woke cocktail will be normalised by the BBC and alt media - that's proved successful in America. We need to stand up for women's rights across the board

Trump's apparent victory has 5 big implications for the UK: 🧵 1️⃣ It can happen here. He will back Farage, the Musk propaganda machine will crank up against Labour; the Tories will remould themselves into Trump-lite Islamophobes ...
