In France it was bread that caused the revolution. In Russia it was bread too. Frozen streets, hungry soldiers, a Tsar too arrogant to notice until the palace gates were already burning. In Egypt it was fuel subsidies and unemployment. Tahrir Square didn’t fill up because people were bored. In Tunisia it was a fruit vendor who set himself on fire because a government official humiliated him and confiscated his cart. One man’s breaking point became a continent’s revolution. Revolutions don’t start with big things. They start with the thing that finally makes ordinary people say ENOUGH. In Nigeria they have removed fuel subsidies, devalued the naira, taxed the poor, and let hunger become national policy. Now they want to fine a man earning ₦80,000 a month the sum of ₦100,000 for not filing a tax return. Not for evading tax. For not filing the paperwork. The French had bread. Nigerians have a ₦100,000 penalty for being too poor to know what FIRS means. History is watching and it has a very good memory.

To My Generation, I understand the pressure to keep up with trends. It is easy to get caught in the cycle of spending just to fit in or impress. But in doing so, many of us are making serious financial mistakes. You might feel like you have all the time in the world before old age creeps in, but the truth is: time moves faster than you think. The earlier you start making smart financial decisions, the better your future will look. Here are some powerful ways to start building your financial future: 1. Invest in a Money Market Fund Place your savings in a money market account with a reputable bank. It’s low risk and earns you better returns than letting money sit idle. 2. Buy Land Land appreciates over time. It’s one of the few assets that consistently gains value. Secure land early so your future self will thank you. 3. Start a Long-Term Business Look around. What problem can you solve in your community? Build a solution, create value and turn it into a long-term source of income. 4. Learn High-Income Skills Invest in yourself. Learn digital skills like coding, design, copywriting or data analysis skills that can earn you more, anywhere in the world. 5. Save Before You Spend Always pay yourself first. Build the habit of saving a percentage of every income you earn even if it’s small, consistency compounds over time. 6. Avoid Debt for Lifestyle Purchases Not all debt is bad but borrowing to fund a lifestyle you can’t sustain is a trap. Use credit wisely and avoid high-interest debts. 7. Invest in Stocks or Mutual Funds With the right knowledge or guidance, investing in stocks or mutual funds can grow your wealth over the long term. Start small and learn as you go. 8. Create Multiple Streams of Income Don’t rely on just one income source. Look for ways to make extra money through side hustles, digital products, freelancing or passive income streams. 9. Network Intentionally Surround yourself with people who are financially smart and future-minded. The right connections can open doors to ideas, mentorship, and opportunities. 10. Stay Financially Educated Read books, take courses, listen to finance podcasts always & keep learning. Financial literacy is a superpower most people underestimate. Lastly, It’s not about how much you earn. It is about how well you manage, grow and multiply what you have. Let’s break the cycle of financial struggles. The earlier we start, the more freedom we’ll have in the future. Be guided accordingly.

Years ago, bandits kidnapped his two wives. He paid ₦10 million to secure their release. Months later, the same criminals returned and abducted his younger brother, Hassan. He paid another ₦3.5 million (plus airtime, phones, and other demands) to free him. Terrified for his family's safety, he relocated them to a more crowded area, hoping it would bring protection. For about a year and a half, they lived in relative peace. Then the bandits tracked them down again. This time, they kidnapped him, the same wife who had been taken before, and his daughter. The demanded ransom: ₦20 million (along with motorcycles, phones, call cards, and more). The family managed to raise ₦7 million. It wasn't enough. After 42 days in captivity — enduring severe beatings, torture, and an untreated fractured leg — Malam Bashar Sani was k!lled. His wife and daughter were eventually released. One man. Three separate abductions targeting his family. Tens of millions paid in ransom over the years. And still, he lost his life. He served as a Director at the College of Education, Maru, in Zamfara State. This is the heartbreaking story of Malam Bashar Sani. A cruel reality unfolding every day in villages, communities, and local government areas across Northern Nigeria. You will never see Northerns protest over these killings!

There was a bomb blast in Borno state, Nigeria yesterday evening Infact it’s exactly 24 hrs ago that the bomb blast happened. Lives were lost. Scores were killed. 100s injured. Do you know that the Nigerian Minister of Defence is in UK right now lining up to welcome Tinubu? If we talk, we are told that we complain too much.

When you want to send more than 500k at once, Moniepoint will try to verify you're the one. When a huge amount of money enters your account, Moniepoint will block the account till you verify your identity. When you call them out online, they'll ignore you and when you add more pressure, they send their attack dogs (police) after you. But when bandits kidnap you or your loved ones, the bandits will receive the tens of millions of Naira in their Moniepoint account without any hassles. When the military and law enforcement agencies come to them for information about these operations and to get their help in tracking these terrorists, they suddenly become abiding to CBN DIRECTIVES.
