Not because Solana isn’t good enough, but because the NYSE cares about regulation, control, and legal certainty. They’re not trying to “go onchain” in the crypto sense. They’re trying to upgrade how markets work without breaking what already exists. They’ve almost certainly been building their own tokenization tech for years. Systems that behave like blockchains, but live inside a regulated environment. What actually matters isn’t where this runs. It’s what gets tokenized. Once shares themselves become token native, settlement gets faster and ownership becomes easier to manage. Even if it starts off closed, that shift is huge.
