Apparently people in low income are not allowed to be happy or have fun. If you are not sleeping or eating you must be pounding the pavement or fixing your downed wifi yourself. Therefore it's okay for Sony to take access of your games away. So convinced these people have never been unemployed or lived in a rural area before.

🚨Must read: Israeli soldiers with moral injury admit to unspeakable atrocities they committed in Gaza. They say it "reminded [them] of the Holocaust." One says they put a Gazan civilian in cage, stripped him down, a soldier peed on him while the others laughed Another emptied his machine gun into an elderly man with 3 children. When the commander came to the site, he spat on the bodies & called them "sons of bitches." Another soldier says they encountered an unarmed Palestinian civilian who held his hands up. An Israeli soldier "came near him, waited a few seconds & just fired, without asking questions, without the suspect doing anything," then reported the incident as a "terrorist eliminated." Another describes how IDF Soldiers "would just take pleasure in destruction" & stealing the belongings of murdered Palestinians. He said soldiers would steal "electric appliances, gold necklaces, cash, everything" & "called it a blessing to steal from [Palestinians]." NONE of those soldiers have ever been held accountable, despite their public confessions to their crimes. The IDF refuses to even recognize "moral injury" as a mental disorder because it negates their propaganda slogan that "Israel has the world's most moral army." Instead, the IDF quietly calls it "identity injury" to imply those soldiers are to blame for feeling bad about murdering Palestinians.

@PolitlcsUK A 10:1 pay ratio? So the CEO of a tech unicorn should earn the same as the intern fetching coffee? This isn't policy, it's a fantasy that would vaporize investment overnight. The rest is just reheated student union manifesto.

🚨 NEW: Green leader Zack Polanski will call for policies to end the "affordability crisis" tomorrow - The introduction of a 10:1 pay ratio, whereby the highest-paid employee earns no more than ten times the lowest-paid - Free school meals for all primary and secondary pupils - Universal energy bill support for households and stronger rent controls - A customs union with the EU to cut business costs

Security tags on a block of cheese. This is where Britain is now. When basic food needs anti theft devices, it’s not just crime, it’s a collapse in deterrence and standards. A serious country doesn’t tolerate this.

I just learned that in Japan they will imprison you for 45+ days, with no ability to contact anyone you know, just for jaywalking. They will feed you white bread, plain pasta noodles with no sauce, and hot water with no tea. Their justice system will go hard over small simple “violations” — But they will refuse to protect women who have reported having violent stalkers. I loved Japan when I went, but in general I won’t ever glorify any place, ever, because there’s always some weird shit going on pertaining to the safety of women and children.. practically no matter where you go in the world.

@YvetteCooperMP Got it. So next time Iran should target a school full of little girls (who clearly don't count as innocent civilians). This isn't destabilising, and is apparently completely acceptable.

Iranian strikes on Riyadh, including on the US Embassy, are completely unacceptable. We condemn these reckless and destabilising attacks that target innocent civilians. We stand with Saudi Arabia and our others partners across the region in the face of these attacks.

They were starving. The cotton was right there. They refused to touch it. Lancashire, 1862.🇬🇧 The cotton mills that clothed the world. The cotton came from American slave plantations. Then the Civil War began. Lincoln blockaded the Southern ports. The cotton stopped coming. 331,000 people lost their jobs. The most prosperous workers in Britain were queuing for charity soup. Children went hungry. Everyone expected them to break. Demand the government side with the slaveholders. Get the cotton flowing again. They didn't. New Year's Eve, 1862. Manchester Free Trade Hall. Workers packed the hall. Hungry. Unemployed. Freezing. The Manchester Guardian told them not to come. They came anyway. They voted to support Lincoln. To keep the blockade. To keep starving. They refused to buy their survival with someone else's chains. Lincoln wrote back. He called it "sublime Christian heroism which has not been surpassed in any age or in any country." Then he sent ships full of food to Lancashire. There's still a statue of Lincoln in Manchester. His words are still on it. But here's what most people don't know. That hall, the Free Trade Hall, was built on the exact site of the Peterloo Massacre. In 1819, cavalry charged into working people on that same ground. Demanding the right to vote. At least fifteen killed. Same ground. Same working people. Two generations apart. In 1819 they were cut down for asking to be heard. In 1862 their children chose to starve for someone else's freedom. Lancashire. Every time. Help us get the stories of our ancestors out of the archives and into the people. 👉 proudofus.co.uk/support No sponsors. No ads. Just us. Be part of us. Be proud of us. 🇬🇧

@LiverIron99 @zhao_dashuai We never considered all the extrajudicial legal Chinese opium dealers in the country. How foolish.

Zhao DaShuai 东北进修🇨🇳 Commentary
This guy is unironically using the streets of Shanghai as his background, where the international concession was formed from the British and American enclaves. People like him would’ve enjoyed extrajudicial rights in those areas. For example, as a British national he it would’ve been legal for him to sell opium in the Shanghai concession area before 1858, and after that as a British national he would’ve had legal protection to sell opium in China.

@Carthy_25 @Loster @nsdmorrison Technically they very likely do have authority over their students while those students are in school uniform (most schools have such rules in place), but to outright ban students from entering shops is an extreme overreach and abuse of authority.

@Loster @nsdmorrison I don't care what they feel They're not. They have no authority over any of those children once they are out of their care. If they dont like the kids behaving badly in uniform outside of hours, they can drop the uniform.

NEW: In new BBC article on Mossbourne Academy, a parent claims pupils were punished for stopping at a shop on the way home in uniform. Mossbourne responded saying pupils are not permitted to enter shops in uniform, as travelling directly between home and school "ensures the school can maintain appropriate safeguarding standards". Anyone seen going into a shop after school in uniform "is sanctioned… This is about safety".

@gakamsky @poetryalpastor @Superguy551 What you're referring to is agency! "Listening (to)" implies high agency, whereas "hearing" is low agency/high affectedness. The affect is greater when mood is taken into account: "can hear" implies little to no agency whatsoever, as if it could be accidental.

Leftist is demonic. There isn’t a left wing cause she doesn’t support. I’m guessing she is pro abortion = demonic. Pro trans = demonic. Regarding SNAP - why doesn’t she say that people shouldn’t rely on the GOVERNMENT, people need help, please donate to your local food shelf. That is what Jesus would promote - not rendering more unto Caesar and make people solely reliant on the government for welfare. Insanity.
