Maharashtra What kind of world is this? Are we girls not safe even inside our own homes? Hearing about this incident in Beed has left my heart trembling... A 17-year-old girl, who was married off as a child, was peacefully sleeping at home with her husband that night. Because of the heat, they had left the door open... and through that open door, a monster named Vaibhav Patekar crept in. He gagged her, dragged her away by force, took her to the isolated riverbank jungle outside the village, and brutally raped her... And even then, his cruelty didn't end! After the assault, he brought her back to the village and tied her tightly to a pillar at the public chavdi with ropes before fleeing. She lay there all night, writhing in pain, fear, and humiliation... unconscious and helpless. In the morning, when the villagers saw her, how many times did no one step forward to help? It was only her relatives who finally untied and rescued her. The police have arrested Vaibhav Patekar, registered a case under POCSO and other serious sections, and he's been remanded in police custody till March 17. But just an arrest isn't enough! Monsters like him deserve the harshest possible punishment so no one else ever dares to do this again.

Let's take a moment and raise questions about the working of the Bihar Police. Why is every forensic evidence sent to this private laboratory - RR Labs and not government forensic labs . Questions have already been raised by many people including @YouthVoiceSurya over how their reports are always negative and toe the statements of the police even when there is ample proof a rape. It is worth noting that reports of private labs are not even admissible in courts and are considered opinion evidence. Are there no government forensic labs in Bihar ? Why is the Bihar police and government so negligent about heinous crimes ?
