According to the FIR copy in our possession: A pickup truck (MH 29 BE 8915) smuggling 11–12 Gauvansh smashed through the Bijora toll plaza to escape local volunteers. During the pursuit, the truck intentionally rammed a volunteer's motorcycle in the ghats. Seeing this, Gajanan continued the chase alone in his car (MH 12 PT 8634) to save the animals. The chase ended in an agricultural field in Sukli village. There, the truck driver, Sheikh Sultan Sheikh Allavali, his companion, and an assembled group surrounded Gajanan's car. The mob violently attacked the vehicle from all sides with massive stones and wooden logs, brutally beating Gajanan inside. The attackers then unloaded the cattle and fled. Police arrived, extracted a critically injured Gajanan from the back seat, and rushed him to the hospital. He was referred to a facility in Nanded, where he was pronounced dead. A case has been registered under BNS Sections 103(1) (Murder), 109(1), and 3(5).
