First off, the older age groups most likely to utilize mail in voting favors Republicans heavily. The Republican push to end mail in voting factually amounts to an effort to suppress turnout among a key demographic of Republican support. And secondly, when taken in consideration against the backdrop of American history, mail in voting represents among the most secure methods ever used, with voters having to register, offer their address, and in almost every state provide identification as part of registration to get the ballot sent to their house. And the ballots are usually approved through signature comparison to the signature on registration, with the high number of invalidated ballots in some states far more scandalous than the rare circumstances of attempted fraud. Compare this system to the abuses of Tammany Hall, why don't you.
