Instead of being grateful that a young man stood up and took responsibility for an unplanned pregnancy, is working two jobs, preparing to become a father, and doing everything he can to buy a home and support his girlfriend, you chose to leave cruel comments and send hateful DMs telling me he’s going to hell because they aren’t married. And every single one of you has “Christian” in your bio. Let me tell you something: you are just as much a sinner as my son is. As I am. My son knows he went outside God’s design. He doesn’t need strangers on the internet to tell him that. He understands that choices have consequences and that life is harder when we stray from God’s plan. What he also understands is responsibility. When faced with a difficult situation, he didn’t run. He didn’t abandon the woman he loves. He didn’t walk away from his child. He stepped up. He’s working toward marriage. He’s in Christian premarital counseling with his girlfriend. He’s preparing to be a father. He’s taking responsibility for his family. And instead of encouraging that, you chose to tear him down. The truth is that Jesus spent far more time calling out self-righteous religious people than He did broken sinners. If your first instinct is condemnation instead of restoration, judgment instead of grace and cruelty instead of compassion, you may want to spend less time examining my son’s sins and more time examining your own heart. You are not protecting Christianity. You are the reason many people want nothing to do with it.
