The recent discussion/ debate between Gavin Ortlund and Lila Rose about the magisterium, church history, sola scriptura and (a little bit of) mariology is REALLY good. Recommend listening. These topics start at 48 mins.

@reachjulieroys Please keep reporting on this story as much as as possible. I live 1 mile from their head office, and so many people in this community are disgusted by the way they completely covered this up, and seem to be getting away with it. So far it has not received much press coverage.

Christian Aid Ministries gave money to men who said they were abused but only after they signed nondisclosure agreements. Now those NDAs could complicate the federal case against former missionary Jeriah Mast, who is accused of sexually abusing minors in Haiti. roysreport.com/christian-aid-…

@RelatablewABS Hilarious Allie, given that had Biden said something even remotely similar, you'd be crowing about it for weeks.

Tucker Carlson said his peace was “shattered” after reading Trump’s Truth Social post on Easter morning: “The morning of Easter is a uniquely joyful and peaceful moment, and yet that peace yesterday was shattered. That’s not an overstatement. It was shattered for many observant Christians by a statement that the president of the United States put out at 8:03 a.m. Eastern time on Easter morning. Did the president of the United States really just write that? It is maybe the most real thing this president has ever done and also the most revealing. It is vile on every level.” If your celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ hangs on the Truth Social posts of Donald Trump, your priorities are so out of whack. I don’t remember if I saw this post in the morning or in the afternoon. I wasn’t hanging out on social media on Easter morning. But if you did see it that morning, then you roll your eyes and say, “That’s ridiculous. That’s Donald Trump. He shouldn’t have said that, and that’s not really an appropriate thing to say, especially today.” And then you move on. You go to church with your family, you eat, you do the Easter egg hunt, and you have a great day. Trump just doesn’t have this kind of power in my life. He doesn’t have the power to steal my joy. He doesn’t have the power to steal my peace. He doesn’t have the power to shatter my Resurrection Sunday. And if he has that power in your life, I honestly think that you should ask why.

@Joel7Richardson The tribulation occurred in AD 66-70. The Holocaust killed 6 million Jews, and the current population of Jerusalem is 1 million. How is it possible that a current tribulation would be worse than the Holocaust?

The sheep and goat judgment occurs just after the great tribulation that is centered in and around Jerusalem, when the Jewish people face their darkest hour in human history. The sheep are those who identified with the King by standing with His people in their greatest trial. The goats are those who rejected Him by abandoning Him. "As you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me."

The label “heretic” gets thrown around way too easily these days. If you profess the Nicene Creed & the Apostles’ Creed, you count as a legitimate Christian. Period. Christians will always disagree about important political & social issues and matters of doctrine. But at the end of the day, if someone affirms the essential truths outlined in the creeds, they are not heretics or apostates. 🎙️Holy Post 670 with @philvischer@skyejethani & @kaitlynschiess

@dandarling This to me just shows what "just war" theory actually is: subjective. Those who are the aggressors will ALWAYS find reasons to justify whatever they want to do, and would do anyway.

This isn’t true at all. I think the Iran conflict does meet Just War criteria: - Just cause: Iran terrorizing its neighbors, killing Americans, funding 10/7, threatening nuclear war - legitimate authority. The US and Israel are legitimate governments and have been legitimately attacked for 47 years - right intention: a more peaceful Middle East? A freer Iran, the removal of a terrorist sponsor. Weakening of malign powers like Russia and China who depend on an equally malign Iran - reasonable hope for success? I think there is. Success is the end of Iran’s nuclear ambitions and is friendlier with its neighbors and the West. Not all wars are just. Many are not. But in this conflict, I think there is a pretty good divide between good and evil. That doesn’t mean every action, even in a Just War, is just. The US and Israel won’t get everything right. But I think this conflict fits the criteria.
Holy Post Media@HolyPost_Media

Just war theory is an ethical framework that helps us discern whether engaging in war is permissible, and also how it must be conducted. Conditions include, but are not limited to: just cause, legitimate authority, right intention, and reasonable hope for success. So far, the U.S. & Israel’s war with Iran meets none of them. It’s our Christian duty to continue standing firm as a voice of conscience in these matters. @skyejethani & @kaitlynschiess on 🎙️Holy Post 711 - listen wherever you get your podcasts.

Just as a reminder "the people who did this to Gaza" are Hamas, who killed 1,200 people and kidnapped another 250, forcing Israelis to stand by their national covenant and use all means necessary to redeem the captives. Tell the rape victims at the Nova Music festival that you care about international law, and then post this meme.

Ladies, leggings are not pants. They are underwear. You wear them in public so men will look at you because you’re insecure. Stop it. Read your Bible, turn to Christ, be modest and virtuous.

Driscoll justifies having this woman pastor teach at his church because it was at an all-women event. But if he then posts clips and the whole message to hundreds of thousands of male followers, encouraging them to listen, does this really make a difference?

.@echochurch_'s @MillicentSedra gives a stern warning. Feminism is the most anti-female movement, and not only does lies to and attack women, it attacks God and His Word.

The overwhelming number of posts I've seen saying something along the lines of "Empathy isn't toxic!" is just staggering. Even if someone doesn't want to engage the argument at all, a quick google search will tell you that @conservmillen is not saying empathy is toxic. But rather, she argues that empathy *becomes* toxic when it causes you to validate lies, affirm sin, or support destructive policies. Genuinely curious...what is the disconnect? I can't figure out why people keep doing this.

“Diversity” has always been code for: “less white people.” “less heritage Americans.” “less Christians.” No historic nation has ever viewed a “diversity” of ethnicities, cultures, and religions as a national virtue. Diversity is not a national strength, but a weakness.

To amplify, I'm generally in favor of striking Iran -- there is just cause for war given Iran's decades-long violent campaigns against the U.S. and the immense threat of an Iranian bomb -- but we need achievable goals, competent leadership, and public buy-in. As of right now, I'm worried we're zero for three on that score.
David French@DavidAFrench

It's astonishing that we're building up for a significant military clash, and Congress isn't involved, no real case is being made to the public, and the average American has no clue. If this gets serious, it will be a shock for lots of people.

@Sean_McDowell I think it depends on whether the sins were committed before they were a Christian or not. If they were in leadership and committed adultery for example, that feels permanently disqualifying.

QUESTION: Are there any SINS that permanently disqualifies someone from ministry leadership? To me, child abuse is one. Also, the kind of ministry abuse we see in Simon Magus (Acts 8). Agree or disagree? What say YOU?
