@Miss_Lakewood My guess is that time period has the most fantasy classes (rogue, wizard, barbarian, knight), not to mention a time when there were Kings, queens, princesses and princes in ample supply. Plus both magic & creatures like dragons "existed" in that period.

Why do a majority of fantasy writers seem to always default to a "middle age" type of setting for their stories. There are so many other compelling periods a fantasy story could be modeled after.
Why does everything must be packaged in an Arthurian setting?
