Canada proposes a ban on Bitcoin ATMs - what does this actually mean? There is a lot of uncertainty still, and this is simply a proposal, with no new laws or regulations currently in place. It will likely be at least a year before any new regulations are in place. Currently, our Bitcoin ATM services remain operational and unaffected. In the event of a ban, I believe @bitcoinwell is uniquely insulated through our internal software and Cash Voucher functionality. Because we control this software, it is likely that we will be able to work within the new regulations (whenever they come, and however they look) However, I do not believe this is directly correlated to scams that can occur at Bitcoin ATMs (these are largely preventable, as we have proven with our software and processes since 2021), but this is rather a move towards forcing full KYC on all transactions, not just transactions over $1,000. Regardless, we know our financial privacy is eroding, this is not news. We know the regulators and governments are introducing stable coins and CBDCs which remove your financial privacy and rights. This is a step in that direction, and should not be surprising to anyone who has been paying attention. We have been anticipating and preparing for a day when the rules change, and throughout the last few years have built software and a moat of services to ensure Bitcoin Well will be able to adapt and continue to legally provide services that will preserve our customers financial rights and privacy - something I believe to be a God-given right. The Arbitrum Security Council has taken emergency action to freeze the 30,766 ETH being held in the address on Arbitrum One that is connected to the KelpDAO exploit. The Security Council acted with input from law enforcement as to the exploiter’s identity, and, at all times, weighed its commitment to the security and integrity of the Arbitrum community without impacting any Arbitrum users or applications. After significant technical diligence and deliberation, the Security Council identified and executed a technical approach to move funds to safety without affecting any other chain state or Arbitrum users. As of April 20 11:26pm ET the funds have been successfully transferred to an intermediary frozen wallet. They are no longer accessible to the address that originally held the funds, and can only be moved by further action by Arbitrum governance, which will be coordinated with relevant parties.

Trump has been in the situation room all day most likely. As it seems social forces and heavy support strikes are clashing with Iranian forces in an attempted search and rescue mission of the US airman. There were some unconfirmed reports of his extraction, but nothing confirmed yet. He’s been behind enemy lines for 30+ hours, and it seems the US decided they could only operate by nightfall due to the hits on SAR craft sustained yesterday. That’s why this is full firepower tonight. If they fail to extract him by day break, it will be another 8+ hours until another attempt, and they’ve just shown Iran exactly the region he is in. Incredibly harrowing. And whether the US should be there or not, I hope we can get this guy out alive, and focus on finding off-ramps to this conflict. Because if the Iranian’s manage to take him POW, it is undeniable that Trump will up the violence to save face.
