wait a second...are ethereum nfts catching a bid? yeah i know we're down from $16B to $2B over the past 2 years but every asset class has a bottom

I was on the fence about adding a 3rd punk but time to go shopping I think. Crypto has 5 current use cases. Btc Stables Perps NFTs Defi (but why take onchain risk for the same % you can get in Tradfi) Where people get tripped up on NFTs is because of how idiotic 2021 was. Thousands of mints. New things mooning immediately. And then every nft project doing like 8000 different things. If you view them through the lens of digital collectibles in a digital age it makes a lot more sense. Pokémon cards going parabolic. This doesn’t mean the NFTs in your wallet for 5 years are going to go up. But the best of the best digital collectibles prob do pretty well if you have a multi year time frame. There’s a lot of crypto wealth onchain. And NFTs are easier to transact than physical cardboard. If you believe in the future of crypto as a permanent sector and don’t believe in digital collectibles idk man. I also think maintaining a somewhat anon digital identity represented by an nft as the world moves more and more to a surveillance state has some value.

Few people understand that the setup is quite easy here for NFTs to make new all-time-highs. Yes, I'm talking about BAYC going to 160e+, Punks the same. Why? Because nolstagia has been built, culture is embedded. People are truly COLLECTING now. They are not speculating. They don't need utility to say 'I'm never selling'. Confirmation cycles (2nd cycle ramps) are powerful things, because if they come back stronger a second time, they are likely increasingly valuable assets forever.

The whole thing is funny The punk is the real asset. All else is fake. Yuga got 430 real assets and a "fake" one, yet convo always centres around sale of the "fake" asset Market doesn't yet agree with this which is the main reason I feel earlier to NFTs than I do to eth or btc

From what I understand, a whale just bought 10.5M PNKSTR worth around $200k. However, it seems kinda strange. Maybe @punksOTC knows what just happened?

This is a rare investment where you actually get 100% of what you pay for. No management fee, no 2/20 structure, no brokers. Anyone can own a CryptoPunk today without a suit and Sotheby's paddle.

This will definitely continue to drive down margins for market makers and brokers but ultimately in a zero fee market those aren't roles that should be inherently very profitable in the first place

Alternatively if you're someone with a large collection who isn't looking to downsize- this will give more opportunities to rotate into other punks at a fair price if someone reaches out to you specifically wanting to buy 1 or more of your punks

This trend continues. Huge amount of activity but still from a relatively small number of users. This facilitates people to trade punks with minimal capital requirements, and it allows sellers to more often see an above floor bid on their mids/grails when needing quick liquidity
