2/2 Among the highlights was learning about the only Anglican church in Naples, located on Via San Pasquale in Chiaia — built on land granted by Garibaldi himself — a reminder of the rich and unexpected history of Anglican witness across Europe.

1/2 We were treated this evening to a fascinating talk by one of our notable retired clergy, who, amongst many ministerial roles, is the former Archdeacon of Italy, Malta and Switzerland in The Diocese in Europe

Great to return to my old primary school - St Oswald’s Netherton, today. I loved visiting class rooms and was able to catch up with the Headteacher, Miss Murtagh. She taught me in year 5 & year 6 and has stayed at the school for almost 30 years. The flourishing of the school today is testimony to her commitment to the community over such a long time (I know she doesn’t look old enough). It was also wonderful to see Mr Glen - who also never seems to age. Now retired, he still takes assemblies and fulfils his ministry as a lay minister. Mr Glen was a pivotal influence on many of us growing up encouraging us in our faith, in our studies and on the orienteering course!

Family argument on Mothering Sunday over children addressing friends' parents by first names, not "Mr or Mrs X". I say it's disrespectful, over-familiar. I'm told to remember many are unmarried, so it avoids confusion. It's only being gay keeps me from being ravingly reactionary.
