Nicholi Campbell’s 5:21 result in the 1600m is the #2 fastest ever run by a BGJHS 7th grader. Reminder: the 4x800m already set the school record during the indoor season. Great start for all our teams Saturday!

Sat 3/14: Greenwood All Comers saw tons of PRs. Of note, @BGJHS Boys mid/distance: 400m: Brannon Davis 59.05 #10 BGJHS all time! 800m: Kobe Burkins 2:23.75 #4 & Ahmed Carter 2:25.27 #7 1600m: Luke Griggs 5:20 #7, Nicholi Campbell 5:21 #9. 1st meet, 5 all time top 10s!!!

This also ranks as the 3rd fastest girls 4x400m ever run at BGHS and the fastest one in 13 years.

We’re at the State Indoor Track Meet in Louisville (KY) today with three entries! Girls 4x800m Girls 4x400m Boys Drian Bunton 55m Updates here as we get results.

Eli Klapheke ran a 2:49 PR in the 800m for 25th. Luke Griggs split 2:28 on his 4x800m anchor leg (2nd at State) and followed with 5:32 PR in the 1600m good for 17th at State. Brannon Davis also took 46th in the long jump. GREAT day for @BGJHS @BgPurplesAth! Congrats to all!

Gideon Byl placed 22nd in the 800m (2:45) & 24th in the 1600m (5:51), both PRs. That lowered his 1600m for the 2nd weekend in a row. 400m: Kobe Burkins 14th (61.23), 15th Brannon Davis (61.27), & 21st Ahmed Carter (63.1) all ran PRs. No other school put 3 in the top 25. 2/

Boys Side Jordon Whitlow Clark finished 59th in the 60m (8.71), 29th in the 200m (28.92), and 13th in the long jump (14’ 6.75”) in addition to his split of 64.42 on the 3rd place 4x400m team. Big day for JWC! 1/

More results from yesterday’s Middle School State Indoor track meet. Girls Side 8thG Stella Walden finished 20th in the 800m (2:56 PR)and 33rd in the 1600m (6:39). 8th Sierra Caldwell took 26th in the 200m in 30.72 (PR).

State Championship day for Middle School Indoor Track. The @BGJHS Boys 4x800m relay takes 2nd in the State! They also set the BGJHS school record (9:57) for the indoor OR outdoor 4x8. It’s the all-time 4x8 mark! @BgPurplesAth Kip Walden>Heron Doyle>Nicholi Campbell>Luke Griggs

Nicholi Campbell closes the weekend with another medal taking 5th in the MS 3200m in a big PR of 12:31. It was his 2nd medal of the day after running a leg on the 1st place 4x800m team earlier today.

Brannon Davis collects his 2nd individual medal today taking in 5th in the MS 400m in 62.3. Kip Walden (63.85 in 7th) and Ahmed Carter (65.6 in 8th) grabbed top 10 finishes as well.

Brannon Davis jumps 4.74m (15’6”) and medals in 4th in the MS Long Jump (unofficial).
