Tonight, we are hosting the Class 3A Region 2 meet! Across the state, region meets determine qualification for the @khsaaevents State Championships on Sat 5/23. Come out and support the Purples and see some of the state’s top athletes compete in a championship setting.

Split teams day! Girls: Track bus wheels rolling north to the Harry Greschel Invitational at Christian Academy of Louisville. Field events start at 9:30ET, track at 10:30ET. Boys: Raider Classic @WEHSRaiders. Meet starts at 10AM CST. Low winds, nice temps on deck today!

Hotel sleep >> back to the UofL track this morning for a full slate at the @EasternRelays. Girls 4x800m kicks it off at 9:15 EST. Will be a wet one. 🌧️ ☔️ 🦆

Friday night at @EasternRelays! FR Hiram Hernandez is currently competing in open shot put. Boys MS Mile about an hour away. Warm, sunny early evening at the track will give way to a rainy Saturday tomorrow.

From there, tomorrow we have a full slate of relay teams and some individual qualifiers in open events as well. Updates here throughout the weekend.

Nicholi Campbell set the @BGJHS 7thG 1600m record on Monday in 5:14. Luke Griggs (5:21), Silas Shirley (5:26), Heron Doyle (5:27), and Gideon Byl (5:28) ran the sub-5:30 QT as well. They all run tonight, & HS open shot put qualifiers Hiram Hernandez and Izek Reed throw as well

MEGA meet weekend! We embark on a 2-day journey to the @EasternRelays on the campus of U of Louisville this weekend. Tonight, we have 5 @BGJHS boys running the MS Mile. That's FIVE sub-5:30 milers two of whom are 7thG!

Approaching @GHSscotties for tonight middle school track meet. Our @BGJHS track teams have a big week at Glasgow tonight & then multiple athletes have qualified for the prestigious MS Mile at Eastern Relays Friday evening. Couple more kids trying to hit that time tonight!

BG Track + Field is at the Cougar Invitational today at Logan County HS (Russellville KY). Field events are about to start with running events beginning at 10:30 AM. Warm and windy one on deck.

Strong first meet in the 100m for Drian Bunton (11.07, 100m - 1st place), Dru Jones (23.19, 200m - 2nd place), and Faith Evans (26.47, 200m - 1st place) as well. Video of Drian (Lane 1) and Dru here (Lane 6) in the 200m start.

Nicholi Campbell’s 5:21 result in the 1600m is the #2 fastest ever run by a BGJHS 7th grader. Reminder: the 4x800m already set the school record during the indoor season. Great start for all our teams Saturday!

Sat 3/14: Greenwood All Comers saw tons of PRs. Of note, @BGJHS Boys mid/distance: 400m: Brannon Davis 59.05 #10 BGJHS all time! 800m: Kobe Burkins 2:23.75 #4 & Ahmed Carter 2:25.27 #7 1600m: Luke Griggs 5:20 #7, Nicholi Campbell 5:21 #9. 1st meet, 5 all time top 10s!!!
