ICRISAT at the National Workshop on Future Farming on Climate Resilience and Carbon Markets, New Delhi, India on 6 –7 Nov 2025. Organized by the Asian Development Bank (@ADB_HQ) in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (@AgriGoI), Department of Agricultural Research and Education (@dare_goi), and Bureau of Energy Efficiency (@Beeindiain), the event brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Government of Odisha(@rdmodisha), policymakers, and researchers, to discuss the carbon markets and their role in fostering climate-resilient and sustainable agriculture in India. Dr Mukund Patil(@mdpatil2014), Dr Pushpajeet Lokpal Choudhari(@PushpajeetC), and Dr Pranuthi Gogumalla, ICRISAT shared insights on carbon removal, soil health, and digital MRV systems, emphasizing the importance of science-based strategies to advance carbon farming and climate-smart agriculture.

The meeting brought together 145 representatives from 24 countries to strengthen soil analysis and promote sustainable soil management across Asia, reinforcing ICRISAT’s pivotal role in advancing global soil science and building resilient agricultural systems.
