The hold up on taking Kharg is ensuring that Iran no longer has the capacity to do that by the time we do. It's why we've been saying 90%+ degraded capacity for some time. And they can't just hide munitions forever, because if they stop retaliating while Israel is killing everyone vaguely associated with the IRGC, then they look weak. People think these things are entirely unrelated. That we're just bombing away with no deeper thought process. Israel is dropping bombs to obligate a military response. US is dropping bombs to neutralize the latest form of response. When they run dry? We take the Island. Redirect our forces there. And then the regime collapses. @deltaIV9250 What I've always heard is that modifying it for the thermal environment in LEO would be too much work to be worth the trouble. Better to stick a reactor on it and feed it to Isaacman's NEP project. It was originally intended for deep space anyway.
