@Qchatice @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 And Egypt has a crude replication of the Luxor casino as well
English

@MoralOverdraft @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 Clearly the White House served as the inspiration for the Acropolis in Athens.
Damn Greeks, they aren't original at all, as if copying Broadway wasn't enough.😒
English

@Qchatice @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 I understand Athens has some distressed replicas of American capital buildings so we seem to inspire everyone

Adoro o amor que mostram pelo país, mais um pouco e a enciclopédia que dizem que eu tenho de ler diz que o planeta gira á volta da América e não do sol. 🤣

@3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 Oldest country? 🤣 It's true that it never changed its system of government, or had issues regarding losing its independence. But even so, it's not the oldest. 🤣
Português

@MoralOverdraft @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 You know that buildings aren't just blocks or skyscrapers.
Those are modern buildings, irrelevant to a debate about the 'oldest civilization' 🤣.
Besides, 90% of modern architecture is painfully boring.
Bring back Gothic, but America has good examples of Art Deco.
English

@Qchatice @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 Yeah have you seen Shenzhen? They built everything there in the last 40 years
English

@Adamwuu @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 I find your ignorance brilliant for having confused Goku, the Moon Sailor, with Ichigo, the Hokage of the Leaf Village.
English

@Qchatice @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 Ichigo focus on your own problems of the Leaf Village instead of mischaracterizing the greatest country on Earth!

I'm going to use this opportunity to share one of my favorite monuments/buildings in Europe. And this one doesn't even make the top 20, but it's one that really moves me.

Did you know it took 632 years to build the Kölner Dom? Construction began in 1248 and wasn’t completed until 1880, making it one of the longest building processes in architectural history. : bhn.photos
English

@Qchatice @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 Yes, we have buildings that are 300 years old. England and Italy have nothing like that, nor do China and Egypt and Iran and so forth.
English

@SSage61293 @MIbeertaster @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 My point remains: it is not the oldest country in the world by any definition, but, in my opinion, it is the best country of the modern era.
Largely because, in my view, they created modern and free foundations as a base rather than building on top of old, and boring ones.
English

@SSage61293 @MIbeertaster @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland got their own parliaments for local matters, they remain part of the United Kingdom under the central government in London.
The only actual "separation" treaty was the Anglo-Irish Treaty, which saw most of Ireland become independent.

@ToddaHare @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 An American invention proves otherwise: the internet.
Other than that, I have books.

@MIbeertaster @SSage61293 @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 Lost the war, not the sovereignty... But you still have UK, Portugal, San Marino, Ethiopia...
America best position is third place in the definition of "longest sovereign with the same constitution" after San Marino and the UK.
English

@Qchatice @SSage61293 @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 Japan lost its sovereignty after ww2 it was giving back in 1952 I think
English

@KesselsLastNut @SSage61293 @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 I love this ones. I need a movie about this.
English

@Qchatice @SSage61293 @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 Complete bullshit. The EU, or "Eastern USA" wasn't even discovered until 1865, when Walker Texas Ranger rode a horse with no name across the Atlantic.
English

@SSage61293 @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 Based on that criteria you have :
Ethiopia, Japan, San Marino, UK, Switzerland, UK, Portugal, Spain...
You have 5+ more for sure.
Your criteria.
English

@Qchatice @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 There is but one set of criteria: an independent nation-state, recognized as such by the world, still in existence.
English

@jcaley66 @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 "yore inability" for arguing is notorious.
The subject is apples and you respond with rice.
Not smart, not funny. 😴
Next time respond with those " Simple historical truths" or be funny.

English

@Qchatice @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 Keke…yore inability to grasp simple historical truths runs in tandem with yore inability to manage yore runaway waterbed financing…
English

@BCBMVPSZN @JoshuaLevyX @3YearLetterman @WarMonitor3 I did, but I managed to get some pretty funny answers. Chuck Norris style.
