The Unite the Kingdom march organisers are spreading hatred and division. They do not reflect the Britain I’m proud of. Peaceful protest is a fundamental right and one I will always protect. But if protest turns violent, we will act swiftly, with extra court capacity in place.

@TorstenBell The FAR LEFT hate our flags and in truth hate our country. They despise what makes the rest of us proud & makes us British, from the working class to GB News. They peddle anti-UK propaganda globally. Thousands may march today but millions more stand against hate & for the UK

Let this be a sage warning to anyone who wants to exclude someone from their service on the basis of sexual, gender or gender reassignment. Watch out Women's Institute, Girl Guides, Virgin Sports, LGB Alliance and others who think it's OK to exclude trans females. It's not. This is beautifully tested here by not allowing Grover to exclude a trans woman from her female only dating app. Perfect. The tides are turning as people start to see sense after the hysteria last year. @WomensInstitute @Girlguiding @Virgin @AllianceLGB bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Starmer is the adult in the room. And the British public don’t like bullies and like fair play. It is apparent to anyone with a brain that there is a witch-hunt against the PM by the media & fuckwits in Labour.

@jonsopel Stupid comment. They were watching for formations, tactics, what players train, set plays etc. hoping to gain an incremental advantage. It’s plainly cheating. They wouldn’t have done this to gain nothing. Remember Saints manager was an analyst when Germany won the World Cup

Is the outrage over Spygate understandable? An act of crass stupidity, I’ll grant you. But this is less Philby and Burgess and more Laurel and Hardy. Some hapless intern is sent to film from 400M on his smart phone the Middlesbrough team kicking footballs. What searing insights would the Southampton side have got? ‘Ok boss they’re kicking the ball with both their left and right feet. Sometimes they’re heading it.’ It’s all so silly. Southampton look like a right bunch of Charlies. But in the pantheon of great sporting scandals, this is pimple sized
Henry Winter@henrywinter

The outrage about Spygate is understandable. If proven, it’s cheating. It’s seeking to gain a sporting advantage over an opponent. Let’s hope this ire is also now focused on other varieties of cheating in football, namely the amount of deceit that can stain games... 1/2

Deeply honoured to be appointed by the Prime Minister as Health & Social Care Secretary. Huge thanks to @RachelReevesMP for my time as part of her fantastic team. Can't wait to get started and continue @wesstreeting's brilliant work on such a critical mission for our country.

Britain is now only just above Russia and Hungary on trans rights. We are below Armenia, Romania, Kosovo, Turkey, Serbia and Belarus. The anti-trans movement has, for now, won a decisive victory in Britain. It will not last. This historic injustice will be rectified.

A cause for national shame. This is the Rainbow Map for LGBTI+ rights across Europe. Until 2015, the UK was top. We've now collapsed down the rankings - and are the worst in Western Europe. We're now near Albania.

@YvetteCooperMP It’s not law. It’s just advice. Judges can still rule anyway they want. To make it law will take years getting European countries to agree. It’s meaningless

Following months of dedicated UK diplomacy, 46 countries meet today at the Council of Europe to agree critical reforms modernising the way the ECHR deals with migration - supporting the UK to take firm action on border security. It is the work we do internationally which makes us stronger at home.

Title race = you lost. Automatic race = you lost. Playoff Semi final = you lost. If #Saintsfc are kicked out of the playoffs, there is no way that Middlesbrough should be allowed a place in the final. Playoff finals are for winners; not losers. Failure shouldn't be rewarded regardless of kicking us out. #Boro don't deserve a final place and Hull should be given promotion IF it happens.

BFBS News, I wouldn't go into bat for Carns, a veteran RM who sold out fellow veterans for 30 pieces of silver. We won't forgive him & the ex military MPs who voted with Starmer to prosecute veterans. Money & position before comrades. He's cooked.

I’ve been speaking to a number of people, including some very senior veterans and SAS commanders, and they have been highly critical of Al Carns for seemingly being MIA when it came to vote on the Northern Ireland Troubles Bill. Carns has been busy working with campaigners behind the scenes - and they’ve praised him for doing so. But when push came to shove on the bill on two votes (one in January and one last month) @AlistairCarns was away meaning he wasn’t able to vote. They see this as a cynical way of dodging a controversial vote. Now he is apparently preparing for a leadership contest should Sir Keir Starmer resign. Those in the veteran community tell me they have lost faith in Mr Carns for failing to support Northern Ireland veterans - which include former special forces personnel, an family he was a part of - when it mattered. If @AlistairCarns genuinely wants to throw his hat into the ring of an election campaign, he surely needs to address this matter publicly. Campaigners say the time for sitting on the fence is over…

@OfficialVizeh Surely the punishment has to be for this season. FIFA banned Canada’s manager for 12 months for doing it. Everyone involved should get a 12 month ban. First leg should be ruled a 3-0 victory for Middlesbrough as well

@TimEdwa17994672 @AndrewE28728347 @LukePollard So you don’t delay orders you place them immediately which Labour haven’t done. Also you don’t order items which are deferred so you place the order but instead of getting them all in 6 years it takes 2 years. Labour are not rearming it the rate required

@AndrewE28728347 @QprXBlockKevin @LukePollard In the 21st century it takes decades to rearm. In WW2 you could build a tank or a plane on hours now it takes at least a year. An aircraft carrier could be built in months now it takes well over a decade, even a destroyer which took weeks on WW2 takes well over 7 years.

Today the MOD is announcing a £1billion order for 72 RCH-155 guns. It’s a big investment in the British Army and shows that the Labour government is serious about increasing the lethality and deterrence of our forces 🇬🇧

NEW: Britain rearms with 72 RCH 155 guns, which are capable of firing eight rounds per minute at targets more than 40 miles away. The £1bn deal will see the first deliveries in 2028 thetimes.com/article/f432dc…
