Got on a flight this evening to go home. We took off. Turns out ground staff didn’t close the cargo hold properly. Now we have to fly in circles for two hours to burn fuel before it’s safe to land back in Sydney. I just want to go home. How fucking hard is it, @qantas?

@FrankWCE1992 @CaroDiRusso @Qantas Perhaps there was no sign of an issue and no warning light until take off when vibrations caused the door to shift a tiny amount and the indicator came on or vibration resulted in a wire shaking loose causing a false indication, landing as a precaution is the prudent action

Sydney Weather Update ⛈️ Sydney is experiencing significant weather disruptions today, and we know many of our customers are feeling the impact. A strong weather system is bringing gusty winds, rain and offshore thunderstorms, with Sydney Airport currently operating on a single runway. This is causing delays, disruptions and cancellations across some of our Qantas and QantasLink services this afternoon and into this evening. Our teams are working hard to get customers moving, including upgrading some of our services to larger aircraft and scheduling 12 additional flights tomorrow. If your flight is affected, we'll be in touch via the Qantas App, email and SMS. You can also check your flight status and manage your booking at qantas.com or in the Qantas App before heading to the airport. The good news is conditions are forecast to improve overnight. We appreciate your patience and understanding as our teams continue to stay focused on getting you on your way as soon as we can.
