@nickbitt29 @kofapps @richarddeitsch @Chiefs @BuffaloBills I was addressing the OP talking about Thanksgiving. CBS doesn't want primetime that night. They'd rather have the 1pm game. Yes, they would have loved to get Bills-Chiefs for 4:25. Inevitably there was going to be a year they didn't. This is that year

Really interesting discussion today on the NFL's annual post-schedule release call with the media. CBS really wanted the @Chiefs-@BuffaloBills game that is now airing on NBC in the primetime window. They have had that game for many years. They lobbied hard for it. But as the NFL keeps saying -- every game is a free-agent now. And that game is now a test for how many viewers will watch in that Thanksgiving late window.

@ACWhite1994 @awfulannouncing I'm not offering up an opinion. These are facts. You can watch as much football this season on free TV as you could 20 years ago. That's also a fact. We didn't have games on Christmas and Black Friday even a decade ago. That doesn't mean we're losing windows on Sunday afternoons

@Quaker2001 @awfulannouncing Nope. We're not buying it. Once the NFL leaves free TV, it will head to streaming services. Most fans will lose interest and they may watch college football instead.

@richarddeitsch @Chiefs @BuffaloBills I do wonder if CBS would’ve been willing to exchange Bears-Lions to NBC to air Chiefs-Bills on primetime. It would interesting if NBC would take that trade since the 1 PM slot did see an increase in ratings last year.

@JimmyTraina They're in the largest media market in the country and not even that was enough to get them into a single primetime game. But at least for ticket holders, that's the advantage of being terrible that all the home games will be at 1pm

How do you know a team is an embarrassment: The Jets do not have one primetime or 4:25 pm game this season.

@dougastevens @burackbobby_ I doubt only having 10 games on a Sunday afternoon instead of 11 is a turn-off for that many people. Taking games out of Sunday Ticket is going to be more noticeable, especially for "Fan X in City Y" who just wants to see his teams games and they're all over the place

The NFL has essentially eliminated the need to buy RedZone or Sunday Ticket by adding so many new national windows. By Sunday afternoon, there are very intriguing games and teams left. The NFL has taken the magic away from Sundays. foxnews.com/outkick-analys…

@ProFootballTalk They've leaned into this one. They want to make the schedule release a multi-day event by allowing all the networks to make their own announcements. And at this point, all the leaks by team reporters just creates more social engagement for what's not really an "announcement"

The NFL hates the tipping of draft picks. It doesn't seem to be bothered by the constant leaks of specific games from the regular-season schedule. The situation has created multiple days of buzz ahead of the full announcement tonight. nbcsports.com/nfl/profootbal…

@MJRodnick Games are no longer tied to a specific network. So that game could be on CBS or on Fox

The question on everyone's mind (well, at least mine) is which network will this be on? I read somewhere that the road NFC games are on Fox at that time slot. It's on the internet, so it's gotta be true. Since that's the case, our first one with...

@Nick_Metcalfe These aren't "leaks".. they're announcements. And yes, they're completely separate from beat reporters who have some inside access sharing what they know before it gets officially announced. And yes, that's 48 hours with 5 games before we even get to Friday night.

More NFL games for 2026 are being 'leaked' - has there ever been a more ludicrous use of the word leaked by the way? Thanksgiving looks tremendous. Hell of a line-up. #NFL

@HBTides @NBCOlympics @NBCSports @lindseyvonn @NBAonNBC @OnHerTurf What happened with Biles was during the team competition and after qualifying. It didn't happen before competition. Had Vonn not been able to go in the downhill, someone else already on the team would have skied. Moot point though because she was able to start the downhill

@Quaker2001 @NBCOlympics @NBCSports @lindseyvonn @NBAonNBC @OnHerTurf Ok thanks. I assumed Olympic teams had alternates if someone was hurt in training. The policy should not be that a forfeit would occur if a competitor is seriously injured at practice. Makes sense now that when Biles quit in 2022 no young lady was able to replace her.
