I’m not even out of uni yet and I’ve already got £9K interest on my student loan bill. At least I’m studying law at a top school. Millions of teens are being encouraged to do pointless degrees at bottom-tier unis that aren’t even worth the paper they’re printed on. For at least 75% of university graduates, their career prospects aren’t improved by going to uni. They would have ended up earning just as much, and getting the same (if not better) opportunities at 21 by going straight into work. And meanwhile, our skilled trades are dying out. We need 2 million plumbers, electricians, and brickies more than we will ever need 2 million criminology graduates. Britain needs to stop treating education as a one-size-fits-all system. Plenty of young people who don’t excel in a classroom are practical geniuses. Plenty of kids who hate maths and science could build a 3-storey house or fit a kitchen in the blink of an eye. Plenty of teenagers who are dismissed as “lazy” or “stupid” are actually just not having their talents nourished. We are taught to go to university because it’s what everyone does. That the “lifestyle” and the “experience” will make it all worth it. It isn’t. It isn’t worth a lifetime of debt for a degree that doesn’t help you anymore than a few years in industry.

DRAFTKINGS TOOK $100,000 FROM MY ACCOUNT: Last night, DraftKings went ahead and paid me out $18,500 in winning bets, along with $80,000 in pending bets on Pick-6. Upon withdrawing a portion of the 18.5k DraftKings froze my account, rescinded the payouts and cancelled my withdrawal. Upon rescinding the money they unlocked my account with no communication or explanation. As the Pick-6 Sets were still pending I gave the benefit of the doubt and assumed it would be repaid. They have now gone and systematically deleted all 9 of my slips, they’re no longer in the live category or recent picks. THERE HAS BEEN NO COMMUNICATION from DraftKings regarding this in the last 16 hours. Please RT if also affected. @DK_Assist @DKSportsbook @Pick6
