We’re slowly moving away from HFT more into mid-frequency strategies, and it’s been one of the most profitable months we’ve had in years. I’ve heard other props are doing something similar. Interesting times for crypto trading.

@astraiaintel Oracle free tier vps or any other cheap vps works too. If you have an unstable net connection or turn your main system off regularly (e.g. a laptop).

If you spent $800 on a Mac mini while you could just spawn a virtual machine for your agent on your main system for free you are a complete idiot. You fell for a complete trap.

Recently seen some posts around HFT and AI/OpenClaw Let me be clear. - HFT is simple. - Whether or not you are consistently profitable depends on your speed relative to other players. - You can use LLMs for HFT. - LLMs are slow. - You will be beaten by everyone not using LLMs. LLMs work by predicting the word that comes next in a sentence, then predicting the next and so on. It is not a magical box that lets you make money in markets. AI is amazing and has amazing potential, but with 90% of AI trading products and services are pure garbage. The next time you go to watch a movie or tv show, instead go watch some youtube videos on how AI works instead. This way you can spot the 10%.

The phones are for non-technical followers to be impressed because lots of screens equals high tech. HFT is extremely simple. Whether or not you make any money is dependent on how competitive your market is. You could use LLMs but its a dumb idea, because you will be slow compared to others in the race.

@MoonDevOnYT and what all of these phones are doing? running openclaw? if so.. how then LLMs can be used in HFT as they process requests very very slow?

Ever wondered where your order actually sits in the @HyperliquidX queue? I built a live L4 orderbook visualizer this weekend so you can see: • Your exact queue position • Other MM quotes updating in real time • Individual order details bad-auth.github.io/l4book_visuali…

An uncomfortable truth about becoming a profitable trader is that getting there is more about a very deep fundamental understanding of very basic mechanics and how they all interact with each other rather than a few very complex concepts. When you’re getting started, it is easy to feel lured by the people who talk jargon you don’t understand, making you feel like if you only spent more time studying them, then you’ll be able to become successful “too”. In my humble experience, every time I understand something a little better about the markets, it has felt like a realization of something that I’ve always dismissed but that has been there all along. This, of course, doesn’t apply to everything; there is some complexity in some areas of finance, but for the majority of people who are just looking to buy low and sell high, it’s definitely true.

Water Fasting is amazing. I recommend switching onto a ketogenic diet in the week leading up to an extended fast. It will reduce muscular atrophy as your body is already in a fat adapted state which can be a problem for heart health with repeated fasts. Steady state cardio is goated here too.

@quantymacro Savinf now to make sure you have adequate resources available to afford your parents quality of life as they get older is both extremely caring and highly pragmatic. Ignore optics, the people who judge aren't going to be there to help you when their way fails. Do you.

is it weird that I’m saving money for elderly day care for my parents down the road? I think at one point having a professional carer + day care will be rly good and help w loneliness. but the optics of/connotations towards outsourcing parental care is kinda negative.

80% of today's political arguments would be solved if people understood the difference between correlation and causation. In fact, a lack of understanding in the scientific method accounts for most of today's stupidity.

@GoshawkTrades Not sure what people are using that doesn't show unrealized drawdowns. Anyone calculating drawdowns should be using asset price data.

Most drawdown calculations are misleading. They only show closed-trade drawdowns. If you enter at $1, it drops to $0.10, then closes at $1, it shows 0% drawdown. Reality: you experienced 90% drawdown.

A large amount of people will spend a lot of time getting angry and arguing about things on the internet that will never affect them. No one is getting out of life alive, don't take it so seriously. Go live and enjoy it, build something, experience something, love someone.

The more I understand the markets, the more I realize that much of my success has been due to luck and unusually forgiving market conditions, rather than pure skill. I sometimes wonder if I’ll ever feel like I know what I’m doing.
