@mreliptik_ Good indie mobile game dev isn't easy at all... To be honest I'm surprised by how much effort I've put just to reach the alpha of an idle/clicker android game 🙄 More generally when someone says that something is easy, you can deduce that they don't know much about the subject.

@Quantum_Martin Yes that's what I'm describing in my first tweet. From what I understand, the openGL operations are sequential. So when you grab the data from the GPU, it stops rendering. I've done some research online and it seems to be a common problem

#GodotEngine people, any idea how we could avoid or optimize doing get_viewport().get_texture().get_date() to get a viewport screenshots? I did it in a thread, but get_data() is slow (~20-30ms). I guess the renderer is busy giving us the texture & it cant render at the same time

To give you a bit more info on this, I wanted to get a capture of each frame to do short video replays automatically. Unfortunately at the moment it's way too slow to be usable.
