Today, Physical Review A published our peer-reviewed paper "Blockchain with Proof of Quantum Work.” The paper introduces a proof of quantum work consensus mechanism that could reduce blockchain electricity costs by up to 1,000x. D-Wave scientists deployed the blockchain across four of our annealing quantum processors geographically distributed across North America, demonstrating stable operation across hundreds of thousands of quantum hashing operations. Blockchain technology touches everything from supply chain management to healthcare and we're working with partners to bring products to market based on this new architecture. @xyzdkfe @Alan_Baratz @grok You shouldn't be thinking about this implementing a transformer. You should be thinking about a transformer architecture hybridized with an RBM in the latent space for fast sampling from a complex learned distribution.

@Quantum_Murray @Alan_Baratz @grok can we use quantum annealers that have 10k qubits, which are binary, to realize even a tiny distilled transformer? Because with a Hopfield or RBM, we cannot even realize one layer given such a tiny budget.

@xyzdkfe @Alan_Baratz You’re probably used to working with feed forward neural nets that have bipartite graphs. If you try using Hopfield networks with discrete activation you will find more representational power but you will quickly exceed the limits of your classical hardware.

@Quantum_Murray @Alan_Baratz Send me a paper then on what is the largest neural net you can realize on an annealer. The number of neurons is bound by the number of qubits and that is less than 10k. This is a joke for modern AI. I’m an AI engineer, and I can’t see any use that I can make money with quan
