We have a new head coach! Coach Jeff joined in 2023 as Academy assistant coach and played a key role in our 2024 Gothia Puma Trophy win. He stepped up to the first team last season as assistant coach and now takes the helm as Head Coach. He holds English FA and Scottish FA licenses and is currently completing his UEFA C license. A couple of years ago, I made myself a promise: I would find a way to support 1,000 small businesses with funding, skills, tools, whatever I could offer. Because for me, this is personal. I grew up in a neighbourhood held together by small businesses. Our meals, my school fees, rent, everything; all of it came from the daily hustle. My mum ran multiple businesses to keep us afloat. Some thrived for a while. Some died quietly; not because she didn’t work hard enough, but because there was no safety net, no proper business support, and sometimes the economy just made survival impossible. So I know firsthand that when a small business dies, it’s not just a shop or a stall shutting down. It’s food off the table. It’s rent unpaid. Its children pulled out of school. It’s dreams paused until the next small miracle shows up. Since making that promise, I’ve tried in my own way. Partnering with DammyB, I reached at least 10–20 small businesses. Appearing on the Smartpreneur platform, I connected with about 30 more. Many of them needed just a little push in form of small funding, or simple knowledge of how to sell more, manage better, survive longer. It hurt me that I couldn’t give them more, at least enough to truly expand, scale, and breathe. It’s a terrible thing to know you can help but not have enough to share. So this August 1st, I’m doing the craziest thing I’ve ever done — to keep that promise alive. I’m starting the #ZeroToHundred challenge. I’ll start with ₦0 and zero back-up funds. I’m not allowed to touch my savings or borrow money from friends. I’ll hustle every Naira from scratch. I’ll selling, flip, pull stunts and provide services, anything honest that pays. The goal is ₦100 Million in 30 days. But the bigger goal is simple: push as much of that money and momentum back to the same small businesses that keep families like mine alive. I’m talking about paying rents, stocking up shops, expanding businesses and providing the know-how and community to grow. Even if we can help keep their businesses and dreams alive for one more month, one more year, it’ll be absolutely worth the sacrifice. One day, I want my own kids or anyone who sees this to know that it’s possible to show up for your community in ways that matter. Even if you have to start with nothing. I can’t do it alone. I’ll need your help, your voice, reposts, your plugs, your gigs, your trust and all the opportunities you can send my way. I’ll document everything in the open. Transparent. Real. Raw. So you’ll see exactly how your support makes this possible. We all know at least one small business owner who deserves better. So let’s do this together. August 1st — we begin.
