We need to decentralize development in Ghana. Move some government offices and major institutions to Northern Ghana. Build factories there. Create jobs there. And most importantly, build a high-speed train from Accra to Tamale, Bolgatanga, Wa, Paga etc When infrastructure and opportunities reach every part of the country, development will no longer be concentrated in only a few cities.

I’ve lived all my life in Accra & after experiencing the north, all and I can say is Ghana is a VERY POOR place. There’s poverty written all over the people: their food, clothes & overall wellbeing. The disparity between East Legon and Chereponi is sheer wickedness! Unacceptable!

@nyavorx We started mining gold many years before Arabs discovered oil. Our leaders are pure heartless. Fixing our country shouldn’t get anyone angry. They owe us that since they plead with us to take charge of our country affairs. Greed is causing all this.

"Ghana is one of the largest gold producers and so its citizens shouldn't be suffering. But they've left it to foreigners." -Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma, the lady leading the xenophobic attacks! Me: I agree with her 100%. That's why we need to take over our mines and do it ourselves.

@nyavorx Exactly right. Africans abroad always cry xenophobia, but back home their own resources are stolen by foreign companies. Take back the mines, feed your own people then talk

Absolutely agree with this Ghana is blessed with so much gold, yet too many of our people still struggle. It’s time we gently take back control of our own resources and manage them in ways that truly uplift our communities and create opportunities for every Ghanaian. Let’s build a future where our wealth serves us first. Thank you for this powerful reminder unity and self-reliance are the way forward

Did you know that Xenophobia started in Ghana 🇬🇭 and Nigeria🇳🇬? Here is a story about the "Ghana Must Go" Saga: A Tale of Two Expulsions 🇬🇭🇳🇬 In 1969, Ghana made a move that would reshape West African relations forever. Facing economic strain, Prime Minister Kofi Busia issued the Aliens Compliance Order, forcing nearly 2.5 million undocumented migrants, mostly Nigerians 🇳🇬, to leave within 14 days. Fourteen years later, the tables turned. In January 1983, Nigeria was reeling from a sudden oil price crash and high unemployment. President Shehu Shagari ordered over 1 million undocumented immigrants to depart. The majority were Ghanaians 🇬🇭 who had moved to Nigeria during its 1970s "Oil Boom." This era birthed the iconic "Ghana Must Go" slogan. Forced to pack their lives in a matter of days, fleeing Ghanaians used cheap, sturdy, checkered nylon bags to carry their belongings. These bags became a permanent symbol of the crisis and are still known by that name across the continent today.

Ghana has reported South Africa to the African Union (AU) over xenophobic attacks. The country has asked the AU to discuss the repeated, ongoing xenophobic attacks on African migrants.
