@sarah_go_green I was just there, midges must have been on holiday somewhere other than Ayr, Glasgow and where we were staying near Doune 🙂 And it did rain a bit most days, a lot on one and blazing sunshine on another, you'll be fine - light layers with a waterproof close to hand!

Nearly 72 hours of a horrible sickness bug and i'm back in action looking forwards to heading up to Scotland very soon. The weather forecast seems to indicate it never stops raining at the moment? 🤦🤣🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

So I just put my postcode into the tactical voting website and as expected it told me the tactical vote for here is the @LibDems. The strange thing is the candidate for @UKLabour here put a leaflet through a week ago claiming that the Lib Dems had a 0% chance of winning here and a vote for them would lead to the local Tory retaining his seat. That seems a little bit dishonest to me? @carolvorders stopthetories.vote

We have our induction hob on an Alexa controlled smart plug (yes it's rated for the current and type of load in case anybody was concerned). The device was called "hob" in Alexa: Me: Alexa turn on hob Alexa: I can't find a device named Hubba Me: Git Thinking I'm being clever, changes name to Hubba in Alexa... Me: Alexa turn on hob Alexa: I can't find a device called hob Me: Git Me: Alexa turn on hubba Alexa: I can't find a device named hob. Me: Fuck you Puts device within a room called hubba and calls the device hob. Me: Alexa turn on hob Alexa: Ok Me: Alexa turn off hubba Alexa: Ok Finally beaten the irritating pile of crap AI. It really shouldn't be this hard and I'm sure it didn't used to be so useless at voice recognition. These things have got worse with time I think?

HI @g__j Quick question: currently there's no Octopus tariff for those with a storage battery but no EV - this seems like an obvious omission if we're trying to promote load-shifting to overnight? IO is fantastic, but unavailable if you have a battery but no EV. Thanks.

I was nervous about the lack of consistent cheap block to charge home battery, especially in colder months when heat pump working hardest. Do you think you're Agile for the foreseeable now? If it worked for you in Dec I guess not a switch away for winter!

@sarah_go_green @QuietGeekingOut @OctopusEnergy @power_vault I switched to Agile in December and have saved money every day over the standard tariff. If you have the flexibility to avoid use at peak time, it's definitely worth it.

Taken the plunge and switched to @OctopusEnergy Agile before the standing charges go up 1 April. Let's see how this goes! Thanks for the nudge @sarah_go_green. I'm even giving @power_vault's algorithm another chance to impress me out of micro-managing the schedules myself 😁⚡️🔋

@sarah_go_green @OctopusEnergy 'Charge' the swimming pool too, if it's heated? Like a hit water cylinder on a massive scale, set it to do its heating in cheap periods of Agile/flux/whatever tariff with dips they qualify for!

First world problems but had an email asking for advice. Guy has a large swimming pool. Battery storage. Solar panels. Smart meter. No EV. My first thoughts are @OctopusEnergy Agile to change the battery offpeak and discharge to work the pool pumps etc.
