Ok so who here owns or has used a reMarkable? What do you think of them? I like the concept, they look really good on paper, but I am put off by the price tag. The context is that I suck at making notes an I want to be better. Paper log books don't work for me as they just end up unindexed streams of random thoughts without enough context to always remain understandable after the fact. Notebook apps work for specific topics but not for ad-hoc note taking. I was thinking a reMarkable might be the thing that sits between both and actually works for me. Does anybody have experience of this device who can tell me how well they work in practice?

Hi! If this is your first time seeing me on your timeline, here's a quick overview. I am Canadian and I despise the orange turd. If you are a kind, decent person, I will consider you a friend 🤗❤️ If you are like minded, leave a reply and I'll follow you back ❤️

@graeme_cobb If public transport wasn't shit and prohibitively expensive then more people would use it. It's just in the UK all of our public transport systems have been ruined by greed and underinvestment for decades.

@ATaylorFPGA @misChrills We do make some things! But not enough by several orders of magnitude. I'm not sure our current government are capable of doing anything positive to incentivise companies to start making things here though. I doubt any of the main parties are sadly.

@Carlynotcarley How can you have "normal" mental health conditions? Also, WTAF is a worklessness tsar? Sounds like a job that shouldn't exist and said person should be workless themselves!

@graeme_cobb @petchelli Maybe he's just having a bit of a break from social media? It can be a bit grim on here sometimes as this place has become pretty toxic so getting away from it all for a while is probably beneficial. Hopefully he's all ok.

The cognitive dissonance is doing Olympic level gymnastics in these replies. This should be a case study. Instead of engaging the argument about consent and public spaces, nearly everyone defaulted to repeating "trans women are men," as if that resolves the contradiction being pointed out.
Jenna Taylor ♀️@JennaSpeaksUp

🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️ Public accommodations, such as restrooms and locker rooms, do not operate on individual consent. They are not "safe spaces." They are shared spaces governed by laws and social norms. The claim that trans women are inherently a threat in these spaces relies on a false premise that trans women are equivalent to men and that their presence signals sexual danger. The data does not support this. What's actually being expressed is fear of men, rooted in the belief that men don't respect consent, and it's being misdirected at trans women. This ignores a critical fact that trans women are among the groups most likely to be victims of sexual assault, not perpetrators. And if the concern were truly about predatory men, why would anyone believe a sign on a door or a law would stop them? If someone were intent on committing sexual assault, why would they take the unnecessary step of pretending to be a trans woman when they already ignore rules, boundaries, and consent? Step back and look at the situation structurally. The fear is aimed at the wrong people, and the proposed solutions do nothing to address actual harm.
