Dear Superintendents and Golf Staff, With so much focus on the rough this week at Oakmont, I’m reminded of how quickly long grass can turn a fun round into a scavenger hunt for us weekend warriors. If you notice groups shuffling through the rough, heads down, hunting for golf balls, it’s a good sign the rough is too high for everyday play. Tour-level, four+ inch rough is a good challenge for championship golf, but it can slow pace of play and sap enjoyment for the rest of us "normal" golfers. I had a superintendent from a very well-known course tell me: "If you can't see a ball in the rough from 40-50 yards away, your rough is too high". Even trimming it back an inch or two can help pace-of-play, reduce frustration, and still reward accurate shots. If you want to let it grow longer for the occasional "big event", go for it. But trust me, golf is still PLENTY difficult with 2.5 inch rough. Observation: If you are a potential member of a class of plaintiffs in a possible class action suit, you need to read carefully any "Engagement Agreement" with an attorney that you are told you must sign. Oftentimes there is a provision that is included but not explained which will obligate you to pay a portion of any money you are awarded over to that attorney if that attorney ends up not being part of the action that leads to you being paid as a class member. This is called "quantum meruit." It means you agree to pay that attorney for the time he spent if he ends up not being part of the lawsuit that is ultimately filed -- and you end up getting an award from a class action suit brought by a different attorney. There is no requirement to sign an engagement agreement to be included in a class action. If the Court certifies the class, every person who fits the description of the class must be contacted and given an opportunity to be included -- regardless of whether you signed an engagement agreement. The engagement agreement is a way for the lawyer to claim some of your recovery if the lawyer doesn't end up participating in the case. So, if you are ever solicited to join a class action and are told you need to sign an engagement letter with a particular lawyer to do so, that engagement agreement is for the benfit of the lawyer, not you. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming. RPs would be nice -- just for general consumption by the X audience.

.@MikieSherrill just voted against giving significant tax relief to the vast majority of New Jerseyans - relief they desperately need thanks to Democrats making NJ the highest taxed state in America. Why? Because her top priority as governor isn’t NJ taxpayers, it’s proving how much she hates Donald Trump. Frankly, it’s disqualifying. Despite campaigning on the issue repeatedly, Sherrill voted against quadrupling the SALT deduction on federal tax returns. This is after she and her party controlled the White House, Senate and House, and did nothing to fix the problem.

A global network of 1,900 scientists & professionals has signed a declaration saying there is no climate emergency & no cause for panic or alarm. Climate models were not remotely plausible as global policy tools. 'They blow up the effect of greenhouse gases such as CO2 & they ignore the fact that enriching the atmosphere with CO2 is beneficial. CO2 is not a pollutant. It is essential to all life on Earth.' Photosynthesis was a blessing & more CO2 was beneficial for nature & greening the Earth. Additional CO2 had promoted growth in global plant biomass. It was also good for agriculture, increasing the yields of crops worldwide. 'CO2 is plant food, the basis of all life on earth & global warming has not increased natural disasters. There's no statistical evidence global warming is intensifying hurricanes, floods & droughts & natural disasters or making them more frequent. CO2-mitigation measures are as damaging as they are costly. 'We strongly oppose the harmful & unrealistic net-zero CO2 policy proposed for 2050. Surprising results in the Arctic & Antarctic. Arctic sea ice extent did not reduce in the 20 years before 2020 - & Antarctic sea ice has been stable or slowly increasing for 40 years. Polar ice is not disappearing & to date there isn't a climate crisis.

Remember the DC helicopter crash in January that killed 64 people, including 12 children? Turns out the female pilot who was flying was given multiple warnings and was directly told by her male instructor/copilot to turn the opposite direction of the passenger jet to avoid a collision. She ignored him and flew straight into it.

I WORKED for President Trump during the first administration. I have sacrificed family relationships, lost business opportunities due to my political affiliations and have continued to support him since day one. I still do. But it has been 3,130 days since Donald Trump uttered the iconic words, "because you'd be in jail," to Hillary Clinton and there has not been one arrest yet. I'm a voter. I am an American. And I am entitled to answers from our leaders as to why members of our government were permitted to strip us of our Constitutional rights, rob us of our liberties, lock those who dared to protest in prison and why they are still permitted to roam free.
