I am so frustrated… my neuropathy is getting worse even as my other biomarkers are vastly improving. 100lbs down. Waist 11in down. Normal A1c (est. 5.6% from 13% in 3 months). 2lbs of beef per day. 10g carbs. Intense fasting (72hrs/week).

@ConserveLibby Plus: Anyone else noticed that high histamine intake can induce stiff muscles and cramping? Eating more ground beef, leftovers or aged/cured meats or fish will mean higher histamine. In nature during evolution we probably had most of the meat pretty fresh.

I’m about 6 weeks into the carnivore diet. I am struggling with terrible leg and foot cramps during the night. I salt my food with Redmonds. I take a high quality (Pure Encapsulations) magnesium citrate, as well as LMNT electrolytes daily. Help! What am I doing wrong??

I'm 57. I exercise, I eat only whole food cooked by me and not too much of it. I have had a cardiac checkup and my Calcium score is zero. My BMI is 19. This is my blood pressure in the middle of a busy and stressful GP surgery after several coffees! If I saw me as a patient, why on earth would I tell them to take a 'poly pill' of FOUR blood pressure and cholesterol medications?

@KenDBerryMD Started January 3. Down 25 pounds through fasting, light exercise, and the lack of hunger from 95% clean carnivore. Other than weight, haven't seen any health changes. New symptoms - hands are stiff when I wake and my right hip hurts, which is odd because it's not injured. 🤷‍♂️

On this last day of World Carnivore Month I have one question for those who tried it. Did your health improve or worsen??

@PierreKory @MidwesternDoc Common problem underlying GERD os SIBO, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. The hydrogen and methane gas produced by bacteria digesting carbohydrates pushes acidic stomach contents upwards. GERD almost always goes away using functional medicine principles.

@RasmussenT56381 I don't know why I find it so incredibly hard to believe (despite all the anecdotes). I myself ate carnivore with only cauliflower and broccoli as sides for 2 months. I felt terribly bad and actually thought a couple of nights that I was going to die, so I gave up.

1 year ago, I embarked on a journey without even realizing it or believing it would work! I decided to give this crazy lifestyle a try 🥩 after lots of convincing from my husband. It has turned my life and worldview upside down 🙃. See some of my insights in the 🧵 below:

World-renowned physician Dr. William Li explains how cacao can stimulate stem cells to migrate to various sites of repair and regeneration throughout the body. Cacao is the core ingredient in chocolate and is produced from the beans of cacao tree through a process of fermentation, drying and roasting. Clinical studies have shown that men in their sixties with heart disease, who drank 2 cups of dark hot cocoa per day for a month, doubled their stem cells and significantly improved their circulation. The COSMOS (COcoa Supplement and Multivitamin Outcomes Study) is a large-scale clinical trial that recently showed that consuming high flavanol cocoa decreases the risk of cardiovascular death. What are your thoughts on this?

UN Environment Programme claims that meat is the "world's most urgent problem". Not fossil fuels. Not war or poverty. Meat. So in 2018, UNEP gave its most prestigious award to Beyond Meat & Impossible, two producers of vegan fast food. But more is to come. Important thread 🧵 1/n

The U.S. dietary guidelines recommend a diet with 50+ percent carbohydrates. It’s mind-boggling that the US Depts of Ag. & Health & Human Services are about to ONCE AGAIN overlook #lowcarb diets when they revise the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

Meta-analysis found the absolute benefits of #statins are quite modest, may not be strongly mediated through the degree of LDL-C reduction, and should be communicated to patients as part of informed clinical decision making. ja.ma/3Jign5G

A team of NZ researchers did a new statistical analysis of a large Cochrane meta-analysis of saturated fats and found its conclusions were not supported by evidence. Adds to pile of studies concluding that these fats do not, after all, cause heart disease. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…
