One individual said they believed a skid plate off a Toyota Tacoma was hurled and hit their fire apparatus. The shear size and velocity of this vortex that came through the fire area is staggering. This is Mother Nature at her most unpredictable and awe inspiring state. All while wildfire is ripping across the landscape. The fire has grown to 11,044 acres and firefighters have been able to reach 7% containment after regrouping post wind event. Great Basin Complex Incident Management Team 4 and firefighters have been able to punch in line and complete strategic firing operations to gain some ground on containment.
