Pathologists, your posture matters as much as your precision! 🔬 Days at the scope/screen can wreck your neck, back, arms — but tweaks can go a long way. A sit-stand desk, ergonomic keyboard/mouse, and optimizing your setup can make a huge difference! #Pathology #Ergonomics

@RAStandish I’m not sure but you make a good point. I think I personally would just mention the presence of foveolar metaplasia and leave it up to the clinician for correlation

@Path4People There is foveolar type epithelium, but without inflammation or other changes, could this ‘peptic change’ be considered a normal variant (esp in D1)?

@drkeithsiau A smiling delight of a monster!! There is serration but no deep crypt distortion. There is no dysplasia (or malignancy). The HP referred to in previous posts stands for hyperplastic polyp. Somewhat cross-cut. If R-side I would cut levels.

Anyone know what these beautiful fish scales are? In submucosa and lamina propria. Not birefringent, only weakly refractile…#GIpathology

@RAStandish @yro854 Sort of packed together like fibrils in suture material. Any past surgery in the area?

@IHC_guy @yro854 Not birefringent, and yes some crospovidone - a very common finding alongside microcrystalline cellulose in the GI Bx I see… I think they are probably bead structures from a slow release prep of something.

Given the lack of cellular reaction, could be compressed into rather than embedded within the tissue.

Solitary liver lesion. No history The IHC markers are SMA and HMB45 I know you're meant to call it PEComa (first three letters capitals, remainder not); but I decided to sign it out as PECOMA (all capitals) That's the sort of rebellious thing you do when you're a pathologist!
