is there any city that is a "sanctuary" for trans women? in seattle you get stabbed. in chicago you get hammered to death. in new york city you get your throat slit. where the fuck do you go

For those of ya'll who don't know, I'm active duty in the US military and I have been for six years. I'm also trans, and I'm not immune to the ban on trans service members that went out last year. The paperwork was slow to come, but I got my official sixty day notice of removal a couple of hours ago. I should be happy, I should be cheering, and I should be excited, but I've been staring at this email for 2 hours waiting for the tears to stop. I'm finally starting the next chapter of my life. A weight that's been causing me so much stress has finally been lifted, but it gave me a punch straight to the gut before leaving. The email that's giving me freedom, is also the final "We don't want you here" from an organization I gave six years of my life to. I'm not okay, but I know I will be. I have absolutely amazing friends, and a community full of kind and caring people that support me in whatever comes next. Thank you all for everything, from the bottom of my heart. Also I hadn't announced it yet, but thank ya'll for 1k. it's a really big milestone and I'm so excited to keep going <3
